🤨...not really.
I guarantee that if I stroll into a job interview being my true self, talking Spanglish and being a vato dela barrio I would not get the job. So sometimes acting (in that example White) is sometimes a necessity.
In fact here's a movie quote that's a good philosophy: "No one can survive in the adult world if they just stick to the truth." -Jim Carrey, Liar Liar.
And I don't beleive you made it through college by causing a scene in class everytime the issue of race and race relations was brought up.

My wife’s sisters husband is more what you are talking about, he is himself 100% or the time and everyone says that it is just him and when he is not around they say his is a total ass because he has no social skills.

Higher ups admire and the downtrodden and unfortunate appreciate it. Your friends and fam will love you for it. And anytime they're around you'd be totally comfortable with yourself because 1. Your liked for being you and 2.They'll see you they way you are with everyone, no matter who you're with. You'd be blessed. And you'd have nothing but love coming from every angle. Best of all it'll be real love. Cause it's loved aim at the real you. Not the love of a character you're playing that's not truly you or even close.

Fighting is the answer when there's no other choice or when it's the best choice. Turning the other cheek is not an option.

Believe what you want but I remember always being the first to speak up everytime the issue came up in class. And i'd speak on it passionately trying to provoke thought. At times I'd even get up from my chair or like give impromtu visual examples, if I got really into it.

Huh? So if fighting happens to not be the best choice (in a given situation) and you won't ever let things just not bother you, what do you do then?

Like shadow puppets on bigotry?

Yea cause turning the other cheek worked just fine for Jesus, Ghandi, and M.K.L.
Pfft. Please.
Passifism never gets results.

Yeah, Ghandi didn't accomplish anything... India actually had a secret war with England and they kicked the shit of of them; that's how they gained independance.
M.L.K. yup, he certainly didn't do anything, might as well strike him from the history books...
Jesus, he's trivial, obviosuly.
Originally posted by FistOfThe NorthNow who is being a pessimist? If you get angry and show them your ticked off because they called you a name then they have won because they now have power over you, if you show them you don’t give a diddly squat in most cases they will leave you alone because there is nothing in it for them and you have taken the power from them. This is not being passive but being smart and using inaction to gain a favorable reaction. This is a very powerful method with no risk to you, though this doesn’t always work and conflict is the last option of recourse but that is just it, the last resource.

I have destroyed more people with inaction then ever through fighting, if I can get them fired, jailed or disrupt their lives by me not giving them power and no effort on my part who do you think is the smarter person?
