Racism

Well sheesh Alf.

People keep posting all these long winded replies and I have yet to see anyone just do a simple laymans response.

I mean really. Who acctually takes the time to read those things? I'm one that just likes stuff short, frank and to the point.

Because every idiot has an opinion but not everyone can explain themselves.

What are saying is pretty petty because they means once you read the sentence stating if you agree or not, you will not even read the reasons. Pretty lame.

Oh and it is not laymans. Just stick to what you know - that 2 seems like a waste you are too lazy to even read a few damn paragraphs. 🤣

THANK YOU for taking the TIME to READ and DIGEST what it was that I was saying.

The first step to understanding.

Figured that was where you were going. Most people skipped that post entirely though so it still feels like a waste.

Well I could tell from way back that you do seem to know what you're talking about. Sorry I dont think I got that post because certain people on this thread are making me despondent, I stopped reading and just tried to summarise my points. As far as im concerned you've already proved you're level headed.

Glad it shows some. The full context of how things got as they are is complex only because so many lies have been told in between;however, going into detail is only going to piss people off if you can't get them to understand you are not showing favoritism or being bias.

It starts with how we are taught history and this understood idea of Eurocentrism. To this day, a bunch of people still think the first time people sailed to the Americas (North and South) was in the 1400s although Africans and Asians did it waaaaaaaaaaaay (we are talking B.C.; historians agree) before then.

It is not something I fault white people for, but it is clear that "experts" in the field of history have no real influence on what is taught in grade school. Why is that? Hell if I know, but lies are being told that skew the entire picture of human history.

*This is similar to the "two truths" topic in the philosophy forum. "History" > "his-story" kind of stuff

This makes for a very confused public. Most people who are arguing anything don't know what the hell it is they are talking about and just have any opinion that is favored towards their own race. The people who know factually stuff are annoyed because they can't make a point without it seeming overtly racist (because while it is fact, it seems bias because it is not taught to people so it seems like fiction).

The chit is simple but people are complicated.

👆 Yup. People have been travelling to America way before Columbus.

Who said I was imposing any guilt or blame on anyone?? 😕

whites generally disregard racism to escape the inevitable guilt that comes with aknowledging that it's still apart of the "white community" and is in practice in "White America" post Civl Rights movement.

Out of sight out of mind, but still there.

I couldn't of said it better myself, 2damncloud. Way to go.

About a month ago I remember watching a documentary on racism where this wacky young black guy, a film major, was was going around his one friend with camcorder around his University asking Whites "how they felt about racism". Like that was the topic for some project he was talking about doing for his communications class. Anyway most of the Whites didn't even wanna talk about it. Or some smiled offensively, then nodded "no" and walked away. Some got smartassed with him. One White guy looked like he wanted to fight the interviewer, lol. There was this one White dude, a jock apparently, that didn't even answer the question irrelevantly. He said said something like "I dunno, I have Black friends." Then when the dude said that's not what i asked. The White guy smiled and blushed, said w/e and walked away. It was crazy. But not all Whites were nervous/defensive/uncomfortable in the interview. Out of like 10 that he interviewed like 2 cooperated, seemingly, but i bet they would've rather have been somewhere else, I'll tell you that.

It's like, why the defensiveness. You clearly see it on here too. Not one White person on this thread likes talking about racism because of exactly what you said in you statement there.

Dude no one here believes racism is gone. Yeah it exists in the white race but it's not like I should feel any guilt for how someone else thinks.

Spin-spin-spin... Not a single "White person" on this forum denies that racism exist, it does exist, there are racist people in America, as their are racist people in every country. What you fail to recognize is, racism isn't exclusive to "White people". Then again, you're a guy who blankets an entire group of people with a negative action, simply because of the skin color they were born with, which is something people have no control over (aka racism).

As far as that "documentary" bit, it's obviously loaded, as you said "asking Whites "how they felt about racism"., why only "Whites"... Hmmm...

Who said that? I said most Whites don't like to talk about racism. And the guilt doesn't come from how you might feel about someone elses thoughts anyone. The guilt you trying your trying to refer to is White guilt which itself refers to feelings of guilt associated with white privilege, when considering wrongs committed either by their ancestors or by nonrelated people of European origins against natives of conquered and colonized lands and other exploited people.

What you miss is that this guilt is an invention. I don't give a damn about what white people a few hundred years ago did.

I have no problem talking about racism. Ask me a question and if I know the answer I'll answer it. Don't get too technical tho I'm not a college guy.

1) White Guilt is factually B.S.
2) You're a plagerist...

Opening line from the Wiki article.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_guilt

"White guilt" refers to feelings of guilt associated with white privilege, said to be experienced by some people of European descent when considering wrongs committed -- either by their ancestors or by nonrelated people of European origins -- against natives of conquered and colonized lands and other exploited people.

hahahahaha stupid clown

Wow, pure pwnage

Damn Robtard f*cked you up.

Spin? You're spinning. Don't add words to my statements again, twisting my message. Where in that post have I said that "Whites deny racism exists"

I know racism in America isn't exclusive to Whites but we have to look and the past and the present.

Again. Not all Whites are racist, I clearly know that. It would be uneducated of me to think that 100% of all Whites, which include every single White man, woman, child, living in the U.S, are racists. Surely you don't think i believe that? I would love to know the genuine percentage though? Yet I'm a racist to you because I want to know that, right?

And the young Black guy was obviously wacky and personable but just getting real results. He chose to only ask Whites the questions for his own reasons, i guess. But look at the responses he got from a large portion of the interviewees. Why the defensiveness with them?

ive never seen someone so lazily paraphrase (take out a couple of words from the copy/paste) a wiki article and try to pass it off as their own words. this is beyond sad.

now watch him dance and try desperately to flood the thread to page 64.

Wild guess here. He was being agressive.

That's just ****ed up. Glad I know English.
