You obviously didn't use it accuratly if the message was conveyed poorly.

Looked to me like you were dodgeing a point.

No no no no no no. What I was trying to say is that lots of American Indians have been killed in the past and there is still some oppression that stemed from that period goin on today.

I was under the impression that Native had it easier in Canada, if they git it bad in some place in Canada how bad is it gonna be in America?

Unfortunatly I don't know about the situation in America, but I do understand your point now 🙂

I'll just say this, don't take the trains

Really depends on how you look at it, in many ways the rights that many Native Americans have is far greater than the normal populace hell many are considered to be partially sovereign countries where they make their own laws, taxes and in many ways independent of the United States. The Navajo Nation in Arizona even has it’s own time zone.

I think I know whats next.

I predicated you were going to say that. What point is there to dodge? Ive said a hundred million times that its going on onto recently, why would I say it that many times then deny it? What would I gain from denying it when its my main point? In fact if I negated the fact that I said it was happening recently it would ruin my argument.

Are you done now?

Ok, but im sure they must have it bad in some places furthermore I bet they didt get that without a fight.

oh man, don't get me started on the French.....

I don't know what it is, but it might be the fact that we our one of the few countries that tries to define itself by multi-culturalism rather than by any sort of historic or cultural distinction. LOL, then you can go out west and meet the same biggoted idiots that you can find in the Southern states 🙂 sweet diverse Canada

Also when you think about it American Indians dont own America. There were loads of people who have been to America before Columbus. The earth really belongs to everybody, unless you specifically kick somebody off their land you cant accuse somebody of taking your land. So white Americans have every right to be there as long as everybody trys to get along.

Yes, yes, yes I know I might be stating the obvious but im adding my 2cents again.

For real? I read that Wolverine was based on French Canadians they are supposed to be quick tempered. Also I was under the impression Canada had less ethnic minorities than America.

lol, you'd have to have lived in Canada for a while to understand the Canada / Quebec stuff, so don't worry about it, I guess I am making inside jokes 🙂

I don't know if that is true... all I know is that America tries to Americanize people where as we try to let them have their own culture. For instance, immigrants who are going to open ethnic cultural centers when they come here are given as many points as buisnuiss people.

man, for the few Canadians that post on this forum, we talk about the minutia of Canadian law a lot!

lol

well, there is a negative to it

we have MANY insular minority communities in Canada which make no effort to integrate into our society.

there are pros and cons to it, but all in all I guess I am a fan of multi-culturalism... except that it ushers in a whole new set of PC garbage

Which is different than ANY country how?

Because unlike the U.S., there were civil human rights that applied to all of it's citizens. It seems that the laws were not applied to non-whites when it seem inconvenient to Whites. The hypocrisy is what gets to me, with that issue.

I got this from Yahoo' homepage just now.

Color Blind in Boston - Garnett: Racial divide in Boston 'an old cliche'

Or so he thinks...wait till he stays a bit longer. He'll see. Kevin Garnett is the NBA player and the newest member of Boston Celtics basketball team. One of the best players on the league, imo.

The articles called "Breaking the color barrier"

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-garnettrace080307&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

Here are some snippets:

--- "As NBA stars initially resisted chances to be parts of trades to the Celtics this summer, that old tag of Boston as an unpleasant destination for black players resurfaced again."

--- "I think it's (racism) an old cliche' that's going to soon disappear, if it's not evaporating as we speak," Garnett told the Boston Globe." … People say a lot of things, but to experience something is totally different."

Once he gets his head outta the sky, he'll see how he'll be called the "N" word by the White locals, all the time.

"Garnett sought the counsel of past Celtics, Antoine Walker and Gary Payton, who both assured Garnett that it has long been a different day in Boston. To them, the lingering stereotypes of an unbearable racial climate no longer applied."

They're lying to him, hard. Why? Someone paid these players to feed him this so he could come here. Different day my ass. Hit the local pub scene after a game, and they'll see.

"Go back and read the revelatory books, "The Selling of the Green," (1992) by Harvey Araton and Filip Bondy, or Howard Bryant's, "Shutout," (2003) and you'll understand that black athletes in Boston faced levels of racism and overt double-standards unmatched in most major American professional cities. As sports normally do, most of that reflected the world within Boston. Impressions stay with people, legacies linger and that's why these images struggle to die. "

"What played out in Boston with civil unrest and (school) busing in the '60s and '70s was palpable for an athlete. A lot of resentment and pent-up frustration manifested itself along racial lines."

Telling you , man Whites are assh*les in Boston. Especially the White cops.
