Yeah. This match is much harder then the Blair Wind match (not that it was easy.)You two really make me think with your posts.
Thanks. It's been fun, and probably will be one of the better matches this tourney. And I'm not quite done yet either (I told leo I'd take the late Sunday/Monday shift), so if you have some time early tomorrow you'll have more material to use.
😉
Also, at one point I got kinda upset in my posts, and I don't really back down from those statements because I do think people get a little over-confident during tourneys and it ends up coming off as a bit annoying and smug.
However. I don't want it to reflect on how I view you guys personally, because you've all done a good job debating this round, and I realize that one comment doesn't invalidate an otherwise cool members.
Question(s):
I understand that we may bump this up to the semis early due to the teams. I realize that a lot of this won't be determined for a while, so no hurry, but as we find out or determine these things...
- Roughly when will they start?
- Will it be 1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3 in the seedings?
- Are the battle locations the same, or will we be borrowing ones from later weeks of the round robin that are no longer happening?
- What exactly is the "take a person" policy? As I understand it, if a team wins in the semis they will be able to take 1 character from the opponents team that they beat, and can potentially use him in the finals (but are still limited to 6 in any of the battles). Or is it different than that?

sorry guys, was just trying to be more "aggressive" in my debating style, since all the judges in my last battledome match with Smurph said I lost because of that. Anyways sorry about the comment.

No worries. Each participant and judge has their own preference, and there's probably plenty of other things you can do to be more aggressive. But you guys are already like 2-0, right? So something must be going right.

That's what, fourth team that has dropped?Come on people, don't start this if you can't follow it to the end. Tourney deserters be damned. 😠
Few really understand what's involved, then they lose their drive and just crap out. It happens every tourney, despite the warnings of vets and tourney directors. A shame, really, but partially inevitable since teams seem to be harder to maintain than individual commitments.
I realize that if a team is dropping out, they wouldn't have put enough into debates to actually win the tourney anyway, so the best teams are likely still left. But it's still a bit disappointing.

I completely agree with you. And as for you-know-what being doubtfully legal, that doesn't matter. I'm sorry for occasionally offending my fellow Wildstormite.
I wasn't offended at all. I just refuted what you had to say with my own point. None of it was really derogatory from either of us. So no big deal.
And yeah, it's kinda weird knowing we're all in the semis. But don't kid yourself...it's never good to lose.
😛
I know it's never good to lose. But since the standings in semis are ill defined I wonder whether it would be better to start at 2nd place or at 1st.
Seeing how currnetly it's
our team
your team
Smurph
B-Dub
------
Things can get wery interesting in terms of possible matchups.
It's either we vs Smurph if we finish second, or we vs B-Dub (if we finish third). And I didn't put much effort into it due to university midyear exams (luckily I've passed those without troubles) so I've operated only with scans from respect threads. No real researches.
BTW, the translation of KOF2003 comics/manhua in English is finishing in February, though K' has some not-that-good showings in those... like being nearly gutted by the pack of robot wolves (after he melted and beat quite a few of those, though, but they outnumbered our handsome whitehaired pyrokinetic and he was nearly pwned due to exhaustion factor- luckily in tournament he is amalgamated with someone whose stamina is better than his).
But there are also some good...and useful for tourney purposes (that's why I'm writing that there), as having to refer to graphical context in 70% of cases pisses the opponents off sometimes.
