Illadelph's Team Tournament Discussion Thread

Ok.
I've read through the entire thread and am now thoroughly confused.

Can we just lay out the f*cking rules right now please, before I attempt to join the web-board and grab someone to help me stomp on people ?

Three rounds of draft, pick two characters per round from any genre that are Spidey-level or below.

Six characters.

You must field THREE characters that are amalgams of the six, in any way you wish, so long as you don't amalgamate more than three characters. So you could field a three-man amalgam, a two-man and a single character. Or three two character amalgams.

Each round, you get a few minutes prep, during which time you can use ONE of your character's resources, but after that match, you can NEVER use their resources again.

Each round you win, you add one of your opponents characters to your roster of characters to utilize, but you can still only field the six characters in the same amalgam ways as described above.

I believe that's about it.

Got most of that. T'is only characters that confuse me now.

I pick Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Mo, Curly and Joe

I can have

E+Me, Mi+Mo and C+J

or

E+Me+Mi, Mo + C and J

or

E + Me + Mi + Mo + C + J

Amirite ?

Does prep amalgamating add up? What I mean to say is if I have all my characters mix is that 2+2+2 in terms of minutes? Or is that all just 2 minutes? (or 4 depending on how many people you mix)

Also, as much as I complained last time I kinda like the secrecy of the draft last time. Will we be doing the same? PMing our drafts to either Illadelph or Soljer as the case may be?

On the last one you would only be able to use three individual characters not all six at the same time, and you cannot mix all six characters into one person.

The other two variations you put would be correct however 🙂

No. As I said, you must field three characters.

E + Me + Mi + Mo + C + J

Sounds like a single six-character amalgam.

And you must field three characters, none of which can have more than three people 'in' them.

i think I get it.

I was envisioning myself as sole team member, when in-fact it will be three picks each. Correct ?

I'm confused now. I believe you draft as a team of either two or three people (real people-a team of two or three posters).

Each round of the draft, your team picks two characters to add to your 'stable.' Three rounds, six characters.

Each round of the tourney, you make your amalgam however you please (you're allowed to change between rounds), and if you WIN, you add another character (one of your opponents'😉 to your stable.

But you can still only field three characters, that have to be comprised of six characters. You just have more to choose from.

At least, I'm pretty sure that's how all of this is going to work. If I'm mistaken, I'm sure Ill will correct me.

My team consists of two people.

We start the tourney with A,B,C,D,E,F

What can we do with them (please show by using my earlier Enny + Meeny method).

I know this seems like a bit much but I'm tired and my PC's radiation is reducing my brain to a pile of slop.

A+B+C---D+E---F
A+B---C+D---E+F

Those will be the main ones. You're free to field LESS than six characters, though. So, you could also do;
A+B+C---D---E
A+B---C+D---E

As you can see, though, you will always have three characters. One of you will debate for one character, one will debate for another, and you will both be allowed to debate for the third. Also, remember that you can change up the amalgamations between rounds of the tourney. So, if you wished, you could change your

A+B+C---D+E---F in round one

to

D+A+F --- C+B --- E in round two

to

F+C --- B+E --- D+A in round three

to....et cetera.

A, B, C (with D, E, and F not participating...)

A+B, C, D (with E and F not participating)

A+B, C+D, E (with F not participating)

A+B, C+D, E+F

A+B+C, D+E, F

----------

That should be it ermm

And I assume each team member would control either an amalgam or a singular charachter with the third being a 'mututal' thing ?

👆

I'll be able to provide more verbose answers on my lunchbreak to alleviate the confusion, but Soljer is pretty much spot on with his explanation. You start with a stable of 6 characters which you can combine into any configurations you wish so long as you field a 3 character team and no one character is a mix of more than 3 characters.

As far as prep time and the amalgamation process is concerned B-Dub, if you were to immediately amalgamate all your characters into three 2 man pairs at the beginning of prep you'd only spend 2 minutes of your prep and have 8 minutes remaining. You can amalgamate at any point during prep, and all characters don't have to amalgamate at the same point in time. That's left entirely up to you. You simply have to manage your time as efficiently as possible.

Question. How many guys can be on 1 team? Cause Captain Spaulding and Estacado are both on mine. Can we debate with 3 man teams?

2-3 man teams.

Thank you. 👆

- Drafts:

Drafts will be held via PM to me directly. I will post a thread which will prompt you all to submit your picks on the morning of 11/10 (tentatively, I'll accommodate schedule conflicts to my best ability). I am in California so please account for time zone differences. The draft will begin 10am PST the morning of 11/10 (2 weeks from Saturday).

In Rounds 2 and 3 of the draft I'll simply post what the draft order will be and keep it updated as to who's turn it is, but draft picks will continue to be made in private. After the drafts are complete I'll post a confirmation thread the morning of 11/11 (Sunday) which will list all rosters in order for all participants to observe what the teams are and voice any concerns and/or objections they have (as there always will be).

Combat will commence no later than 11/26 (Monday) at 7am PST.
