No drafting Gundam/Veritech-esque pilots, etc. can be drafted. Just contemporary vehicles (cars, fighter jets, tanks, hovercraft, etc). No mechs.

*edit

I originally was going to make this an High Meta level tourney but that won't be until February-March.

.........Mecha? shocklaugh No ****ing way. We start allowing mecha, that punches the tournament into mid meta to low herald and up. No mecha, even under the vehicle rule.

Such a sweeping generalization is bullshit.

There are some mecha that are no more than glorified costumes. All a mecha is is a walking pilotable craft.

Some are easily Spidey-level or below.

Thank god we got someone running this thing who knows enough about most of the mixed genres. 😛

Such a person would be a great mod if the vs. board opened up again.; *hint hint* 😉

So we can't use mechs even if they would fall into the low meta category?

Exactly.

This is mixed genre. An APU pilot drafted from Matrix Revolutions should have access to his APU as standard equipment. And those APU definitely weren't above Spidey.

I know. 😛 But frankly, it's a headache I'd rather not deal with.

Out of curiosity, you're not thinking of drafting the Knight Sabers, are you? 😈 Cause I will stomp your ass if you try it.

Its a headache that YOU don't have to deal with. Accepting a mecha is no different than accepting any other character. Is it spidey level or lower? Yes? Then it's in. No? Then it's not.

No, I was thinking more along the lines of some of the mechs from Full Metal Panic.

Hmm, good point Soljer...

I think that in that regard that the highest piloted mecha as a vehicle would be an APU or a Macross/Robotech Cyclone (the motorcycle mecha suits) at max.

However, this issue is up for vote. Let the people speak.

Another tournament? I already have ideas 😈

Just do it on a case-by-case the way we will all other characters.

And, apply the no-loophole rule. If the contender pulls something out that's obviously above spidey level, slap him with a DQ.

Yeah, I had a lot of ideas I didn't get a chance to get off the ground and see through fruition while I was a mod here.

Now, that's no longer an issue...

Agreed.

I'm against the use of any mecha that's human sized. It boosts strength, durability and provides additional weaponry. Come on man, amalgams are already going to be durable, and if we draft mecha pilots, we get their mecha as standard equipment.

I can live with mecha as a prep tool for one round, but not as a permanent powerup for an amalgam.

How are mecha any different that an armor suit like ironmans? It just a matter of how powerful they are.

And if any the strength, speed, or weaponry are above the tier-limit, they're banned.

There's nothing wrong with drafting a mecha as a 'standard' character, so long as they're below the limit, just like any other character.

It's obvious that the amalgams will be more powerful than the characters by themselves - it's obvious that many amalgams will actually be MORE than the sum of their parts. This is to be expected.

So? It can still be a low meta tool 😬

Hey Ill, did you get my pm with my character questions?

Just in case anyone wants to know this is going to be my gameplan for my first match. Falco FTMFW!

Most good man-sized mecha are going to be around mid meta-high meta level.

Obviously a couple of them like the Guyver units are out due to sheer power. How about a compromise? Exo-armors are fair, but full mecha armors are not?
