Because it would be a waste since Kratos would get slaughtered. Notice Gaia told Kratos that he had to go to Sisters of Fate?

Maybe the powers granted could be taken back in case there was abuse of power. Just my thought.

He used the Blade of Olympus to do so. Besides, Morpheus must've been pretty smart. He must've spent centuries in Olympus and he is a god after all.

Huh?

Wasn't it the same way in Greek mythology? I sure don't remember Zeus not like being worshiped higher in the game.

It has to be non-canon because I've never heard of this.

Don't understand this.

He only had some a fraction of those powers. They would assist him in the battle. You could use Pandora's Box and still fail. Without it, there's no stoppiing a god. Why did you think Kratos surrendered to Zeus?

Or maybe she wanted to give him a real reason to actually kill Zeus?
Well, they Athena could've easily stripped him to a mortal, possibly. Or the gods could've taken they're powers away. But then, we wouldn't be able to kill Zeus.

But Zeus is more powerful than ALL the gods. If one god has power over the King of Olympus...

Okay, you said that you don't think that Helios (and sorry if I got you confused with my other post) head is dead, right? But yet, if he was to get impaled by a blade, he would surely die. But getting decapitation isn't? Maybe a plot-device or something, I don't know.

Then why would he kill innocents? I thought he didn't like the fact that Kratos was being worshipped higher than him. The Last Spartan: "The people cried out for you. They begged for their God to save them. But you did not come."

Spoiler:
"If you beat God of War on God mode and destroy the two Statues of the Minotaur and Ares, you get a telephone number that you can call.

Kratos starts talking about how worthy you are for him to show you a secret that he found in Olympus. Something that even Zeus does not know about. He thens opens this door and you hear Ares screaming. Kratos says it is the soul of War, and goes on asking how can he use this against "him" (Zeus?)."

But Kratos would have to go TO Olympus to get the soul. 2jKCo6VfDeM&feature=related

Why would they allow him to get killed when Ares threw that pillar of him? Maybe to see if he was TRULY worth?

How could you use PB and fail, when you're required to use PB (the most powerful weapon a mortal can wield to slay a god)? So one god is stronger than the other gods? It would be like saying Hades couldn't hurt Poseidon. Maybe it was Ares' size. Because he had no other choice...

Yet he needs Hephaestus to forge things (Gauntlet of Zeus).

He destroyed Sparta because he doesn't respect the worship to traitors.

Whoa what? Guess I did miss something in that game. I never dialed the number because I thought it would be for something else. I still have the number somewhere so I might give it a try.

But anyway, that might be the "supernatural source" where Kratos gets his magic from.

Possibly. That could explain why that gravedigger was around.

Just because one has Pandora's Box doesn't mean they have a 100% in killing a god.

Most of the 'extra' tidbits they included in GoW are non-canon: Kratos' Brother sub-plot, the sub-plot with his mother, Cronos' fate (not entirely sure on this) and Ares' soul. Though in the case of Ares' soul, it's possible that such a thing exists. He probably got his true revenge before GoWII.

I doubt it's the supernatural source of Kratos' power, but that's an interesting thought.

I doubt Ares will return.

Anyway, I heard that it's possible (or we will) face Stheno - the worst of the Medusas - in God of War III.

Bosses:

Hades
Helios
Hermes (not confirmed, but it's possible)
Zeus
Stheno (possible)
Perses (not confirmed, but possible)
Gaia (not confirmed, but possible)

It's also funny how Athena said that Cronos was the last of the titans left, but yet, we see Typhon in God of War II.

I've been hearing that God of War Collection keeps freezing up. Especially in the first cut scene and level. Is this true?

Typhon was supposed to be some giant monster whom Zeus trapped under a mountain. Why he is a Titan, I do not know.

And she was born under Olympus, the main location of GOW3

Never said Ares would return.

You mean Gorgons. Helios isn't a boss.

Pointed out that little mistake a long time ago.

Ditto. He was beaten by a lightning bolt(s?) and then trapped iirc.

Gaia is a 'Titan' in GoW; it's why Typhon is humanoid and called a 'Titan'.

@DemonicPhoenix: I was just saying, for instance.

@Demonic Phoenix: Arn't they both the same?

@Demonic Phoenix: Mini-boss? I wonder how many bosses this game will have.

-Something tells me that we will have to slow down time and kill Hermes (if we face him). And something also tells me that we will kill Poseidon with his trident (I hope we go to Atlantis).

-Also, they need to give up Hades' Blades.

-How will we kill Hades if he is in Hades (unless we travel to Tartarus)?

-Does anyone think that The Blade of the Gods will return?

-If we was to "kill" Gaia, what "magic/power" do you think we would get?

I don't know why, but on GoW wikia, they are claiming that Zeus is wearing golden armor. Maybe they are getting him and Helios confused.

As you well know, GOW 3 has been nominated as the most anticipated game of 2010 at the Spike 2009 VGA show. I ask you guys to please vote for the game and send a loud message to or marketing department if you really want to see more stuff. I want to make it clear to you guys that as far as I know we are not going to be showing anything new at that show however. Let me make it clear that my word is not official and things can change at any moment but I don't want you guys to get your hopes up too much.

I will leave you guys with the fact that currently that game is fully playable form beginning to end and we have had various playtests already with people form the outside. We have already gotten tons of feedback. Every boss battle and every enemy is in the game. We are just focusing on polishing and making adjustments and changes to places that are needed in the game. I want to assure you guys that the game is on track and we cannot wait to get it in your hands next March.

I can't wait, baby!

A lot of good games are coming out/claim to come out march/April

Why give Kratos a weapon identical to his own?

Tartarus is a confirmed location.

-Does anyone think that The Blade of the Gods will return?

Why would that be needed if there's the Blade of Olympus?

-If we was to "kill" Gaia, what "magic/power" do you think we would get?

Nothing.

To rip out souls? Why not? I mean, we have lighting in GoW, but yet, we get bolts.

Once again, why not? Well, the BoO might not return. But I was just using out of instance.

Golden armor? Mkay.

No.

No. We won't fight him. Not unless they remove Perses from that section or change it drastically somehow.

Many gods will appear, but not all of them will be bosses.

Poseidon and Hades probably have their own throne-rooms on Mt. Olympus. Or there will be a portal their realms. There is something mentioned about portals or something similar in the 'Hub' area of Mt. Olympus.

Not as a NP weapon. Perhaps as an 'urn'. I'd like it if we got to play with the BotG during Bonus Play, with the weapon being the way it was in GoW. That weapon was quite the powerhouse.

Read the Gamepro article that Sin linked you to.

Haha. I see I'm not the only one to have noticed that. 😛

Like Mortal Kombat (can't remember which Mortal Kombat game)?

Playstation had a major price drop.

Was it ever said how long the game will be?

Stig gave some numbers.

~ Anyone seen the latest scans about GoWIII to appear in a JAP magazine? I think it was a Japanese magazine. Poseidon looks pretty sweet. Not too impressed with the design of the figure with Cestus. If it is indeed Hercules, I'll be further disappointed.

I got a look at the scans myself. If I had to guess, I would think that that figure with the Cestus was just another unlockable skin for Kratos. It looks like the Apollo skin to me, save for a few differences, which may just be updates to the design.

But looking at those Poseidon screenshots, I'm getting pretty stoked for what's in store in the actual battle. I think it was said that they're to show new footage on the 18th.

There was also a screenshot in those scans that showed the Blade of Olympus in Kratos' hand and I know for sure I saw a piece of concept art with it.

Some are thinking it's Hercules. A tell-tale sign being the helmet shaped like a lion. Frankly, I'm disappointed with the design, and if it turns out to be Hercules, I'll be even more disappointed.

Poseidon is really the only thing from the scans that got my attention. Probably everything about his design screams EPIC WIN. The Water Horse chariot, the trident, and even his 'hair'. I hope the fight takes place a good deal into the game, an epic one at that.
Just hope Hades and Zeus live up to that, especially Zeus. The Zeus battle in GoWII could have been so much better IMO.

The Talos enemy (steely figure with hammer) is alright, it'll probably be a mini-boss the first time we encounter it, being downgraded to a normal enemy after that, albeit one with juggernaut status.

Yes, it's the BoO, at least its appearance is confirmed now. AFAIK, it hadn't been confirmed before.
