If you want horrible stories play any of the following

Ninja Gaiden (some will be hard-pressed to even call it a story)
Any Final Fantasy past FFIX or FFX
PoP SoT trilogy past the first one (horrible is a stretch, but you can tell how many several retcons, rewrites, and overhauls they had blatantly rushed into at least the third one).

Ninja Gaiden's "plot" consists of little more than "Kill them demonz nao!"

The plot of the series isn't its strong point. It basically serves as a decent way for us to kill everything before us. The plot in 1 was good (the way it is told is great, but the actual story itself is just good). The shift in 2 made it a little worse.

Paradoxes at the end of 2 is just the slice.

~ You guys should be discussing combat and the like (strong points), not the plot.

As far as II's plot goes, the fact is that it was basically a "set things up" story, as in setting things up for what it is they want to show us with III.

CoO had my favorite story of the games.

CoO's story caused a few plot inconsistencies in the series. Then again, GoW2's plot wasn't fully thought out properly (with regards to time travel and such), so meh.
