A full team of X-Force (including at least Sunspot, Caliban, pre-depowerment Warpath, Shatterstar, Meltdown, Domino and Siryn) could barely (they commented they shouldn't have been able to) put down a pair of WEAKENED Externals, whose powers were much less extensive than Gideon.
One was basically a lesser version of Marrow, and the other was a brick with very low strength, and decent fighting skills... though I may be underrating Crule.
It's the durability and healing of Externals that make them above Spider-Man level. On top of that, Gideon can copy at least six different powersets at a time from ANY superhuman (including machines), with unspecified range, and duration lasting up to a whole tourney match, without needing them to be in the proximity.
On top of the fact that he can copy skills and talents as well, I'd give him easy odds against Spider-Man... he'd be just as good as Spidey, and Parker would never be able to put Gideon down.

Yeah he would. gideon doesn't have the webbing. That's not powers or machine. SPidey will have a range, motion and agility advantage.

Gideon is ok. I'm not gonna vote against him. There are ways to pwn him so I'm not worried. I just dont' want Gideon copying the amalgams. I'd rather he copy the individual powers at the lvls BEFORE the amalgam. Same as synch.

For instance we know that Power Copying falls under Power Meshing because without the help of other characters there powers wouldn't be there to use.
We also know once Amalgamated that a character becomes one entity therefore their powers become one standard power set. i.e. If you copied Rouge you would get her Power Drain and strength and speed and durability and flight. Not just one but all of them. Same thing goes with anyone.
So Basis is there for a Power Copier to take the combine powers of one single Amalgam.

I"m not going for that. Becuz with a power copier, you can make an amalgam without ever having to amalgam. What if someone makes a team of 5 herald lvl beings? Gideon can copy the beings and become a skyfather. I'm not going for that. He's got to be able to only copy the original POWER at the original lvl. Now I don't mind Gideon being part of an amalgam and doing that whole herald lvl thing, then that leaves one less being. But I wont' stand for him doing that and still being a seperate player.

The only characters that could take an even split with Gideon in low meta are likely those who derive all of their powers from an external source (Venom), or those with healing factors themselves superior to his.
Combined with his potential, and the fact that he can have six powersets/skill sets at a time, derived from ANY superhuman or humanoid machine permanently (afaik), means that he'd wreck whole teams of low metas.
