Your first scare

What movie was it that first introduced you into the world of horror and made you realize you had a sick twisted mind?

From what i can remember, the first horror movie that got me hooked on the genre was rawhead rex or american werewolf in london.

I can't really remember...I remember horror movies I wanted to see like hellraiser and scream and so on....I guess back when I was young I even had good taste. I think the first proper horror movie I saw and I am proud to say I saw was halloween (1978 version of course) I may have been 11 or maybe older it didn't scare me but it still got me hooked and I just loved it and since then I have always found horror movies to be my favorite genre of film

The Thing: Saw it when I was 9 and I had nightmares from the Kennel scene.

Does Silent hill (game version) count, that freaked me out, films don't but that game did.

The first horror film I can remember seeing that got me into horror was Nightmare on Elm Street, saw it at a friend's sleepover birthday party when I was in primary school.

I barely remember these memories, I was so young. But as far as I can remember, it was two movies that scared the shit out of me.

1. An American Werewolf in London - I have no idea how young I was, but when Peter I believe, pops up, and his skin was green from decomposing, scared the shit out of me. I turned around in our old big chair, because I was just scared shitless.

2. Night of the Living Dead - I was laying down in a sleeping bag in my basement, probably about the same age if not older as I was above, and right when Barbara heads upstairs in the house, and sees the dead body at the top of the stairs..... I was so scared, I turned around in my sleeping bag, and I think I might have cried myself to sleep.

Without those two movies, I probably never would have gotten into Horror.

The TV series 'V'. Taped most episodes as I wasn't allowed to stay up till it started. It's not really horror, but as I was about 11 at that time, it was pretty scary and graphic.
At that age I memorised the tv-guide by heart, taping every movie with a scary review, so soon I saw Jaws, Hellraiser, Phantasm and stuff like that.

Halloween 5 was the first horror film I saw. I was probably 7 or so, and I saw in the TV Guide that it was on HBO at like 4 am. So I secretly woke up early to watch it because I had never seen a horror movie.

Yeah, even at the time, I thought it sucked.

Haha nice last comment.

SNAP dude!! sleepover and my friend took round Wes Craven's New Nightmare and I just thought it was crazy shit, I have never been more scared in my life, I was 9 years old and I think i slept with the light on till I was 12.

Not that it matters but I wish I saw ANY of the first 6 movies to show me who Freddy really was and not the crazy sick sick sick slasher he was in New Nightmare.

I never seen a horror before and seeing a robotic hand come to life was something spectacular and something SCARY as ever.

Discos - my friend was supposed to take round the Excorsist as well, whatever.

OH man, I remember Freddy scaring me too!

I freaked when I saw his claw come out of the water between Nancy's legs in the first one, and I ran out of the room when I was really little.

The robotic claw scared the shit out of me too!

Movies ain't scary, but even today the first Silent hill freaks me out, the others are fine but the first one is truly mad.

You should check out the actual videogames for that. They are waaaay scarier.

I think he was talking about the video game.

The first movie that really made me into a horror fan and also scared the piss out of me was Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.

I was 6 or 7 years old, I think.

I was, that game was just pure madness.

I've only played the second game once.

I really should buy the games, all I've gotten in the horror genre of games are the Resident Evil games.

There not very scary at all, the second Silent hill was good, I really liked that one, it was not scary but it was good, and it introduced the great Pyramid heads.
