The official "What's this Movie?" thread!

Saw this movie on TNT back in highschool (more than 10 years ago now)....Sci-fi flick about a people of slaves who use magic red stones (sent out onto the cosmos like meteors) to summon warriors to fight for their freedom. The stones summon two fighter pilots (a stone lodges int their engine, or the intake), a bad-ass warrior woman and her energy being companion (who uses a lightsaber knock-off). Throw in the droid sidekick, some hair-raising escapes, a mass prison break......

The lightsaber guy duels with his arch-nemesis, and is mortally wounded. The droid was an enemy plant who betrays the group, but then redeems itself and is revealed as the last hero gathered by the stones.....

This is killing me, help a guy on his first post!

I've been wracking my brain now for a few months, asking friends, conducting google searches and the like, still can't find the name of this movie, and I'm certain I didn't dream it!

It's an animated film, probably from the 70s but possibly fom early 80s as well. There's a spaceship able to communicate with a boy from the past who is stranded on a planet. There's also one older member of the crew of the spaceship who, as it turns out, is the boy himself. The boy is rescued but the old man dies. Should I point out a spoiler warning here? lol

Any help appreciated. I loved watching it at the time and it's got a great sci-fi feel about it that I love.

Anyways I wanted to know the name of a movie. I believe it was out in the early 80s, possibly late 70s. What I remember is there is a business guy who walks past a warehouse and there is a homeless person warning him not to go in, but the business guy pays no attention to him and goes in anyways. Inside, the business guy gets trapped and in the end is forced to drink alcohol before he is released. I am sure lots of other stuff happens too. He makes it out and, now looking like a homeless person himself, tries to warn a woman who is walking by and she of course pays no attention to him.

I believe aliens were involved.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here's another one:

there's a really hot spell and it's making a group of people out in the woods (not sure how they got there) go round the bend, one guy actually takes on a bear in a fight! I think it was made in the 70s, not sure if it was a made for TV movie.

Does anyone know what movie it is where the family's dead cat is kept in the deep freezer downstairs because it happened to die in winter and they want to save it to bury it in the spring thaw? The part in the movie is where kid has to go downstairs and get meat out of the same deep freeze but always has to move the dead cat aside first... This is really only one small scene from an otherwise unrelated film... Anyone know which movie?

The movie is newer, probably made sometime 1990-present, and I think has something to do with amateur mafia/gangsters I believe (since there are other deep freezes in the basement which are for human bodies).

The answer does not seem to found be on the internet -- I really believe it will come from someone who specifically remembers this part in the movie. I have searched web scrupulously and have even texted KGB as well, but no help there. Previous suggestions have been "Deep Freeze" (2008) and "Rubin and Ed" (1991) but I don't think these are correct.

I don't know what I was doing, maybe cause I sposted a new thread but I kept having my post show up in the wrong place, maybe this time I'll get it right.

Ok, on to my question.

My Father sent me an email he received recently from a friend of his who is desperately trying to figure out what a particular movie is.
He bought a copy of Solarbabies thinking it was that but he said it wasn't.
I Googled and searched all around to try and find out what it could be but I came up with nothing. So I ask of you movie masters to try and help me.

Here is a copy of the email he sent.

"Can you remember a sci-fi movie that ends with a huge, discarded and rusty, old robot saving a group of kids from a government (killer drone) sphere? When one of the teenagers uses a computer to download a “restore” program into the robot, it comes back to life and you hear the squeaking and groaning of the robot’s joints as it gets up. It is 100 feet tall or maybe more, and it fights the drone and beats it, but is destroyed in the process.

The teens started by running away from some sort of government reform or training school, and I think they drove an old car into the desert to a last chance bar and restaurant. They went in to get water, but government agents attacked then so they fled further into the desert and the old car finally broke down near a remote, concrete bunker that housed a satellite TV transmitting station, with a large dish antenna on the top. They got inside only to find more trouble from the stations’ director. The plot was built around the fact that water was scarce and the sun was too hot for life to survive outside anymore.

I saw it a couple times on UHF TV in the mid 80’s, and I thought the title was “Solar Babies”, but I just bought the DVD and it’s the wrong one. Maybe you could ask your family if anyone remembers it. Thanks."

Ok, here's one i've been trying to think of for years, but to no avail.

The movie is probably shite, but i just need to know the name. There are only four real things i can remember about the film.

1. There's a scene where this fine looking woman is driving down the road and sees this chubby teenage boy (might be a boy scout) by the side thumbing a lift. She pulls over and offers him a lift, but instead brings him back to her place. She gets him in to the jacuzzi and seduces him. She begins to go down on him only to start eating him. Lots of blood etc.

2. She's some sort of demon or serpent lady.

3. She hates crucifixes, and openly spits her (what i assume is) venom at one at one point during the movie.

4. It's anywhere from late 70s to early 90s.

Any help is greatly appreciated...

Raoul, sounds like Lair of the White Worm, with Amanda Donohoe and Hugh Grant, directed by Ken Russell I think

What's the name of the movie where a couple get married (I believe they are from the east coast) and she says to him something like "now we are together forever" which freaks him out. Their go on a beach honeymoon (I believe Florida but not sure) and I think her parents are there also. She becomes extremely sun-burned and must stay inside while he goes out to the beach every day. He meets and falls in love with another girl, and I think eventually proposes to her. I believe this was a movie from the 1970s.

The Hearbreak Kid made in 1972 which was remade in 2007 with Ben Stiller.

Okay here's what I remember:
Some odd years ago I watched a movie about a female artist (painter) who finds the "perfect man" and marries him. They go on their honeymoon to this cabin on a lake, where she finds out the guy is not only controlling, but a completely obsessive psychopath. He refuses to let her leave, and she can't swim (and is too terrified to try) so she is stuck on this lakehouse island. She attempts to escape once when she finds a life jacket, but he catches her somehow (can't recall how exactly) and cuts it to pieces. And then he proceeds to chain her up to where she can't go far enough to even try and swim.

I hope that was enough information. I remember more, but not much.
I have searched EVERYWHERE to try and find out what this movie is called, but I can't seem to figure out. If anyone knows PLEASE let me know. I would really, truly appreciate it.

Sounds a bit like Sleeping with the Enemy with Julia Roberts although I've only seen parts of this movie.

The plot of this movie is a guy in college sleeps with this chick who seems really innocent. Anyway she winds up dead and he is the main suspect however the detective gives him like 24 hours or something to solve the murder or else he will charge him with the murder. Turns out the chick wasn't so innocent and had threesome's and took polaroids. The flashback scenes were in black & white. I think there was also a snake & a blowtorch in it. Theres a scene where he's talking to a chick in an apartment block laundry and she says shes gonna get arthritus because she cracks her knuckles and then he cracks his knuckles. It was probably a mid 90's movie. Does anyone know it?

OK i need help here i saw this movie a while ago on comedy central have a regular story line for it ...

this guy gets out of a relationship with a ho so he tries to go on a abstinence bet for like 3 months and all his friends give him shit .. he meets this girl he falls n love they meet up and he gets her to orgasm with a flower cuz he cant do any thing..
( the friends start to bet on the guy for him to loose)
his ex GF the ho then puts a sheet load of money on him loosing the night of the contest ending ( he is tied up on his bed) the EX GF goes in and FKS HIM with out his permission ( making him loose the bet) and there is drama...

killerkris14, Is the movie you are thinking of the one with Joshua Hartnett called 40 days and 40 nights? It sounds the same.

I am new to this and wondering if anyone remembers a kind of dark and creepy stop motion claymation type animation movie/show (sort of like the old Rudolph) that has a little girl and maybe a little boy getting ready for bed. The mom tells them they need to be asleep by dark. The brother falls right to sleep but the little girl realizes she left her doll outside and goes to get it. As soon as she steps of the porch to reach for the doll, a green face (I think) appears in the sky and that is all I remember coz I ran and hid (I was like 5). I watched in the mid 80s. This has been bothering me for years because NO ONE remembers it but me, ha ha.

I already posted a while ago, but it's still bugging me. I need the name of what was possibly the worst movie I have ever seen. The entire premise of the movie was a man being stuck in a box for the whole film.

All I can remember is this guy trapped in a box on an airport tarmac, with rebel soldiers patrolling it and other cargo. The man in the box kept looking out through a peephole and at one stage a soldier almost notices him. This was the only memorable scene, as well as when a scorpion creeps inside the box with him.

It seemed to be a U.S. TV movie from the 90's, and I keep thinking it is called Stowaway or something similiar, but can't find any information on it anywhere. Does anyone know? Cheers
