Firstly, this is a poetry forum. It should be used to discuss poems. Whatever the subject of the poem, we must criticize the poem, and not the subject behind it.
For some it might be difficult, but I assure you that with the right set of mind it is possible. WHat I have read so far here is clearly aimed at the subject, and made it the issue. I find it sad that this thread has degenerated as it did. It could have brought a great many interesting points, had it been better managed.
As for my personal view of it, since this thread is getting closed anyways, I think we enter religion to search for something more, something that will help us explain what is going on arround us. To fill the part of us we have and feel is empty. This is universal, applies to all religions (for those who joins a specific religion of their own will).
I have no doubt that Justin is a good guy, and having talked to him here I can confirm. However, I'm just wondering what missing piece he has, and what is he trying to fill it with. Satanism, excluding exceptions, is not a very moral religion. I appear to know much of it, having studied it on my free time a few years ago, and this, no matter what Justin nor others can say, is the truth. So I am only questionning one's reasons to join this.
If you go with any other reasons than to fill your hole inside you, then you are not a true satanist, and thus the debate is now closed. If it is only for an image, as I've suspected, then you are not a satanist, just like someone who says he's Christian never goes to church, never prays, never is generous etc.
However, Jordan, if you truly beleive in satanism to fill the hole, then I'm afraid I cannot help nor be cordial to you anymore. For the essence of this, if not evil, is not moral and do not contribute to good.
One can argue about good and evil, but we all have a conscience. It's this thing we feel, something natural in all human being, that hints us on what we do, if it's good or bad. And we will feel it, through pain or pleasure, through sadness or happiness.
The only thing that satanism would do, if you embrace it, is to train you to ignore this conscience, to denaturalise yourself, a human being. Again, I am talking through my intricate knowledge of satanism, and of many religions as a matter of fact.
So my advice is thisto you. If you are only doing this for the image, then better stop now, because you won't gain anything from it, only the impression you've gained something.
If you're doing this seriously, then I cannot go against your convictions, but I will tel you in advance that what you will fill your hole with, is not sane for the mind nor the body. The human is free to do whatever he wants, but not everything is good for him.
But I do not beleive you are into satanism for your convictions. Havinfg roleplayed with you multile times, I have notices that your characters, mostly dark ones, always find themselves confused between evil and good. It shows you are inclined, for the image, to join the darkness, but yet you do not know why, other than for the status. But the content is empty. It is this content I refer to as the hole to fill. Again, I can analyse someone extremely well with not much information. (Yes, i am human 😛)
That is why now, without being condescending, I would say you are no more, no less, than a confused teenage boy trying to find himself in the world. That is why I will not say to stay away from satanism, for a normal reaction would be to sink deeper in it (I know, I'm 21 and once was a teenager 😉). If you want to, then go for it, but for the right reasons. And I personnally don't think you have those at your present position.
