Respect Ares: God Of War

Ares is one of the coolest (in my opinion) characters In Marvel comics with endless potential. He has a 300-like (Spartan) attitude donning an awesome ancient-like costume, is extremely strong, an expert with pretty much every weapon made, ruthless, and has an awesome history.

Ares was never a main character, usually a villain for Hercules, Thor, and sometimes the Avengers. Though in the last 2-3 years he has 1come back as an anti-hero. He is now a member of the Mighty Avengers intended to play two roles. Have an attitude like Wolverine and be a powerhouse like Thor.

This respect thread will have fights from his past where he has fought, beat, or matched several powerhouses. It will show how he is ruthless and never gives up even against overwhelming odds, while at the same time shows he isn't an idiot. Hopefully if you guys have battle scenes with Ares you will share them here.

Even though he loses the above fight, it shows he was able to go toe-to-toe with The God of Thunder. Also it shows his bravery since not only was Thor there, but Hercules was in the background and would of obviously fought the weakened Ares if he overpowered Thor.

A Good start to the thread, OnslaughtKILLS. I think Ares could become to Marvel what Black Adam became for DC - an anti-hero with the power of a God & a deadly attitude.

Agreed, he has a lot of potential. Hopefully they don't disregard him like they have done to all those Avengers they have done in the past.

Ares is just starting to get more coverage the last two years; material will be limited.

He should meet Tyr from the Gods of Asgard (as soon as Thor finds his soul.) He's had the same issues with Thor that Ares had with Hercules; feelings of being displaced in father's favour. Tyr really needs a new wardrobe, too.

A war between Hades lord of Hell and Olympus breaks out after a long battle with no end in Sight.Zues calls for Ares God of War to turn the tide.

Here Ares lights himself on fire and has hercules hurl him right in the middle of an opposing army.

Good thread Ares needs respect badly.

I like it, really, but he's nowhere a Thor + Wolverine, Thor decided to cut loose and knocked him in two blows in that panel, having his strength upgraded 3 times his base level means he could lift 210 tons, while Thor is a High rankerd Class 100.He got defeated real bad by the female Ultron while Thor would have lasted against her more than he did.

More scans dammit! Hes a cool character and I want to see more feats! durhulk
