Iron Man

That style of character works best as a movie, I think.

I was using it as a comparison.

^ lol

That one let off an inaudible chuckle, but it was at you.

The "Cloverfield" trailers along with what i've heard and read from others including J.J. prior to the movies' release made it seem like this was going to be a hell of a monster movie. Then the first day i saw it, and saw the ending, i came on here as soon as i got home and wrote about how and why i disliked the ending. That's what happened. And the movie was already flooded with praise on the thread prior to it’s release so wtf are you talking about, saying as soon as the movie was flooded with praise, post release, I began to hate it. Lol w/e.

I hated the movie cause people like it? That’s yet one of the dumbest, nonsensical things you’ve ever written on here, not to my surprise.

And silly? What was really silly was when you wrote that "I didn't like Cloverfield cause you specifically liked it." lmao. How pretentious of you. I disagreed with you about a movie you (seemingly) love with all your heart and soul,(with the way you were defending it), just cause it was a different type of monster movie, cause it was new and fresh, just to seem or sound en vouge and to you i was "an idiot" cause what i was saying about the film went against what you felt about it. That's what it looked like to me cause you're known for insulting people whom disagree with you. How astute. However, I digress. For this, is an Ironman thread, no?

So lets discuss that. Not up for that? Then find someone whom disagrees with you so you can call him/her an idiot in front of other posters for doing so, together with writing things along the lines of “I beat you merely cause I a better person” in order to be acceptable, look cool, and smart when you’re actually creating the opposite effect. Jeez, and it’s all just for arguments sake? You must always be exhausted, lol. You poor chum.

Now. Ironman..

And I'm refering to your 04:42 AM post, just in case.

To me, Ironman wasn't all that spectacular, as everyone's making it out to be. People act like it was the second coming of comic book movies.

Imo, Spiderman 1 was better. "Xmen 3: The last stand" was way better than Ironman. Blade was better too. And i'll tell you that i even enjoyed superman returns much more than i did ironman. Batman Begins is definitely way better than ironman. And The Dark Knight's gonna sh*t all over it. Maybe not financially but comicbook movie wise, lol. C'mon. You can't beat a brand spanking new friken Batman summer movie with him and the Joker going at it for 2008. Think about it. Ironman vS Iron monger - or Batman vS the Joker. The latter will always be the highlight. In fact, that battle is probably the top 3 most greatest battles in comic book history out of many hundreds of comic book, even movie, battles, ever. While Ironman vs Iron monger is probably way at the bottom.

I'll give you the one where you said Batman Begins was better than Ironman and The Dark Knight will crap all over Ironman as well.Cant argue with that, thats a good point that you cant beat Batman going at it Vs The Joker vs Ironman Vs Monger.I will take the former anyday of the year.

oh and for me,the reason it sounds like I put it in the second coming of comicbooks is because like i said, before Ironman,my favorite marvel comicbook to date was FANTASTIC FOUR rise of the silver surfer.but as I said earlier,IRONMAN is 10x's better than that movie. The first really GREAT marvel comicbook movie made so far i would say.and from what I have seen from the trailer of The Incredible Hulk.that movie looks like it will be a really great marvel comicbook film as well.sure hope so since I hated the first Hulk movie.

You liking X3 is very indicative of how you judge movies, like a child would. No story or character development and all glitter makes you happy.

I do expect the Dark Knight to top Iron Man, but I also have extremely high hopes for it.

Also most fans who liked the first two Xmen films, hated Xmen3.

While Iron Man is not the greatest comic film like some are making it out to be, you really lost a lot of credibility (with me at least) by underrating the film so much. I agree that Batman Begins was better/the Dark Knight will be better, but still, you really aren't giving Iron Man enough credit (in my opinion of course). X-Men 3 was shit; in no way was it better than Iron Man.

I actually agree with everything he says in this post Fist.I could not have said it better myself.

These are my top 3 comic book films and why:

1. X-Men: It was the first time a comic book movie that wasn't made FOR kids. Kids could enjoy it, but the themes were adult. Starting the movie out in Nazi Germany during WW2 set the stage. People ate it up because for the first time, instead of the audience being brought into the character's world, the characters were brought into ours. On top of that, there was some quality acting done there(except for halle berry).

2. Batman Begins: Again, this movie was dark and NOT made specifically for children. Nothing wrong with children's movies, but when you take material that is bursting with real emotion and the dark side of humanity, it would be a waste to soften it up JUST so kids, the top money-makers for studios, can eat it up over and over again. The acting was great as was the story. I'm sure TDK will surpass this one.

3. Ironman: This movie, like the previous two, is the first chapter of a franchise. It was made with the purpose of introducing us to the major players and the reason for the choices that will be made in future movies and also added depth to those charaters. True, the Iroman vs. Iron Monger fight was not "main event" material, but neither was Batman vs. a white Raz Al-Ghul. Had it been Watanabe it might have been better than to redo the character. Again here, good acting and storytelling without being corny like alot of the movies I will NOT mention here.

Come on now, X-Men was targeted at kids, sure adults (I did) could enjoy it, but the target audience was early teens.

Why are you protesting so much? You know for a fact that you liked the movie, came back, picked holes in it, got out-debated by me and various others, then threw a crying fit saying you hate Cloverfield. Someone protesting so much surely knows that they are in the wrong, but that's ok, because it's in the thread itself and we both know the truth. You liked it at first, then after I came in, you hated it. Clearly, one of the reasons is because I liked it. Similar applies to Iron Man (See? We're on topic). You clearly just went totally overboard with anti-praise because you dislike how many people like it.

So it's not a matter of me looking cool, it's just a matter of you not liking things cos others do, in this case and Cloverfield's case, and that's cool because everyone's different. I'm not dissing you, it's just the way you do things. I just find it silly, but it's ok, because it's your way.

Also, how do you feel about the hypocritical actions of saying people shouldn't praise movies like the second coming, yet you and other fools are RABIDLY ejaculating over The Dark Knight, despite it not even being out for another couple of months or so? What about that?

Yeah, you're alright, and Iron Man is awesome.

-AC

I see a pattern here:

First stage - "I liked the movie."
Second stage - "Meh, movie was okay."
Third stage - "Movie sucked."
Fourth stage - "It gargled horse cum!"
Fifth and final stage - *Cry*

If I had to pick my top three favorite Marvel films, they would be:
1) Spider-Man
2) Spider-Man 2/Iron Man(tie)
3) X-Men 2

Also, what does it have to do with you finding Batman comics boring, I don't see the connection.

There isn't.....it's about taste. Some readers aren't into detective or crime solving stories.

Others are more into the simple and mindless "GRRRR!!! HULK SMASH PUNY TANKS!"

I prefer the former over the latter.

I've only read a handfull of Hulk comics, but they were far from just "Grr, smash". They usually dealt with the Banner/Hulk dynamic.

that's some awful debating, WD.

You missed it, let me spell it out. Your assessment of Hulk comics being all 'smash' and 'no story' was sophomoric.

That's nice....

...

So anyways, I'm going to go see Iron Man in two weeks (currently have bills to pay). Really looking forward to this film. Be back soon with a full review.

I gotta a feeling it's going to be as good as Sin City and BB.

If you have issues with people disagreeing with your point of view, I'd advise not giving it, just saying.

Thank you. I will take it into consideration....I will....next time you reply to me.

Thanks again.
