you say that Doctors, cops, firefighters, architects, yada yada yada, are NOT a necessity to provide us with our quality of life. and that criminals ARE a necessity to the quality of life we enjoy. correct?

also, who is gonna drive the train? who is gonna build the train tracks? who is gonna build the bicycle? and as far as you paying your yearly fee to learn, you paying is a necessity as well as the professor is. you are paying for a service. if you paid and they had no professors because they werent a necessity, who would teach you?

So what, he didn't do anything wrong. He didn't deserve to be tased.

He could have done things against it, but he didn't have to, he is a free person. He doesn't have to assume he gets tased, he doesn't have to take measures not to be tased by a **** that gets paid by his ****ing money in the first place.

so, just act a fool, be a jackass, make a fool of yourself, and expect no backlash?

Then the cop was clearly in the wrong, and he should be punished accordingly. Why were you defending him earlier then?
I was defending cops in general, because others here were bashing all cops, making them all look bad.

Physically threatening a cop would justify using a taser, not being a dick.

I mean in general. someone walks in your garage and acts like an ass, telling you that his car wasnt fixed properly, insulting you....what are you gonna do?

A train driver. Very many workers and designers and coordinators, etc. Dito. Yeah, for me to pay and the teacher to pay is indeed necessary for him to teach me. No one. Anyways. How are you able to so grossly misunderstand any sort of point a person makes?

Yeah. Not from an official of the public.

Tase him.

NOOOO, wait a second, he would do the opposite....not tase him.

That happens once in while, because some people just can't be pleased. Mostly elderly people. Usually they don't know what the hell they're talking about (I'm the pro, remember), and I have to sit them down carefully correct them and go over what I did.

'Expect' is besides the point when the law (& law officers) is concerned.

If some dude told my wife they want to "donkey punch" her in front of me, I may very well get physical and beat the guy. Could he have expected that reaction from me, yes. Was I justified in beating him, no. Should I expect and deserve to be punished, yes. See the difference.

a train driver. OK. so a train driver is necessary, but a cop isn't? out of all the professions out there, tell me, off the top of your head, five of them that are a necessity.

Yeah. Not from an official of the public.
coming from you, that actually makes sense. That wasnt a compliment, BTW.

but you see my point? If some customer is a jackass, it affects how you treat them.

...rusty trombone, Cleveland steamer, stink fist... take your pick.

Do you understand the point as it pretains to the topic, your "expect" stance and the law?

No. I agreed 5 posts back that Cops are necessary to ensure our current standard of living, made the point though that that is not a good point as train drivers, pimps, killers, garbage men and french people, all are also necessary to ensure our current standard of living.

so you are of the opinion that no matter what we say to cops, they NEVER have an excuse for physical violence?

For saying something?

Of course not.

But it shouldn't, because you accept that this will possibly happen when you take the job.

If you cannot do it impartially, don't take the job.

depends on what is said. some phrases can be taken as a threat.

Correct, they can arrest me for public disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace or threatening them, if I start yelling vulgarities or threats to a cop, but under no condition should a cop tase, baton or shoot me because of words. At least according to Congress and the laws they pass.

Edit: In your opinion, which words and/or phrases should a cop become physically violent towards a person and be justified in doing so?

Ideally, yes, but this is not a perfect world. It's easy to train someone to do a job a certain way, but it's hard to tell how any one person will react to a given situation until it is in their face.

That's not the point, the point is; regardless of what you're FEELING, you cannot act biasedly, that is not acceptable.

If you have to go back to the kitchen or the station and swear, punch your locker or whatever, do it, but don't bring that into your job.

If they are not an explicit threat, they should not be taken as one, simple as that.
