Moving right along. This time initiative goes to the 'good guys,' so Dak leads his charge smashing into the trenches! He hops down and slashes down only a single foe with his lightsaber. His militiamen fall into the trench behind him, moving past cover and blasting away. They take casualties of their own, and Dak takes a few hits.
Up over the train, Wraith shoots down another snowspeeder before they come after him again.

Dak performs an impressive charge down the length of the trench, making three sets of attacks with his push. His first rolls eight successes, finishing off two soldiers. Charge allows him to move to another group, where he rolls six successes, just enough to kill another two. Instead of lingering on the last man there, Dak moves on to the next to make full use of Cleave; in his third set, he downs another two. Six kills total!
Amped by their General's display, the militiamen opt to down the injured Royal soldiers and thin out their ranks with good shooting. The defenders respond by taking down some of Dak's troops, but more effort is made against the General himself.
Wraith takes down another fighter, but things are starting to smoke in his cockpit...

Initiative is yours again. Dak changes tack for a moment to cover himself, but does so while still clubbing a soldier with his tail (since D&W does not work in conjunction with a Lightsaber or Blade Schticks).
He then throws himself down, avoiding a torrent of incoming fire. His troops are not so lucky, and Dak is now alone in the trenches, reinforcements still a turn away.
More Arnian snowspeeders, Wraith. For a moment you prepare yourself for the annihilation of your vessel, but this patrol suddenly opens fire on the patrol you were striking! You spiral down and away from the dogfight, confused but alive... but not alone. One snowspeeder keeps on your tail. Your roll trumps his and you stay in the air.
A speeder on the ground has been destroyed.

Deciding that he cannot afford to lose his precious starfighter so early in its arrival on Arnia, Wraith decides to get desperate. He shuts off power to one set of engines and opens the air brakes on the opposite side, throwing the ship in a half-circle as it falls toward the tundra. With his guns facing the snowspeeder, he opens the air brakes to slow his descent then puts full power into the engines before opening fire. When his engines gain enough power, he jets off to one side of the blooming explosion that replaces the snowspeeder.
Dak goes ballistic as the Royal Soldiers amass about him in the trench, closing in an effort to restrict his agile movements and get him at point-blank. Reflecting incoming fire does not stop Dak from lashing out as they come within saber's reach; the first he runs through with a sudden back-handed stab, followed by a swipe that leaves two more clutching at their partially vaporized organs. One more soldier is unfortunate enough to find itself in range and is cut in three by a quick flourish from Dak.
With Balanced Guard and Cleave tapped, Dak is well poised to defend himself this turn. Had he not tapped Cleave, he would have taken at most 3 damage. But he did, and so these attacks miss, leaving him with three protective points left over for the next turn...
But then his speeders arrive! A flood of blistering cannonfire pours into the trench, kicking up fire and ice into the air, showering you and the soldiers with the debris. The soldiers that have you pinned down promptly break off and retreat into the city.
Though at heavy cost to your militiamen, General Kaliero has claimed the first skirmish.
Desperation pulls through for Wraith, who sees to it that his Crazy Ivan maneuver is a success! The snowspeeder goes out in a fiery burst. Wraith's fighter struggles to regain its engine power against the force of gravity, but he pulls it off. The skies above the train's route are cleared.
The assisting snowspeeders break off to strafe the train, but one remains. It pulls alongside the burning starfighter and sends you a hail.
Pade and Reynal are moving into position for more important strikes at the inner city. But with the trenches cleared at your point of attack, your reinforcements are able to flow through and into the outer section of Meja'Tsid.
Now is the time for Dak to rest up and regain what strength he has expended. All schticks are refreshed and Medicine rolls can be made. If Dak does not have the skill, a field medic can restore 5 damage, and another 5 damage can be healed from brief rest.
