Rylis simply stares incredulously for a moment, before speaking.
"Oh, so you're Force sensitive. Great. I'm from a planet that all but worships the Force, you know, right? I'm not sensitive but I have some understanding of it myself. But I don't think that's going to stop me from this..."
Rylis waits a moment and then is going to rush at Snith, meaning to get her hands around his throat. She doubts she'll be able to defeat him at this point, but she's still going to try anyway.
Grinning, Snith cracks his knuckles and rushes straight toward you with superhuman reflexes, intending to meet you in close combat. And it is then that you notice, too late, that he is still wearing those strange bracers wrapped around his forearms...
Due to his phenomenal speed, Snith gets his strike first. Powering himself up with the Force, he brings his hand forward like a piston in a Nerve Strike. There is a distinct crackle as massive kinetic force ripples from his bracer... and a boom when the sheer power of it is unleashed into your solar plexus...
Snithius Jonah Kamusarai Oro the Second has a Strength of 7. He uses the Force to increase his Strength to 9. His kinetic boosters enhance his Strength by +8, and Nerve Strike by another +5. So his base damage is... 22, raised to 24 by Outcome. With armor factored in, you take 15 damage and are knocked bodily backwards at 83 damage.
A Death Check is made... but a 19 says you are still standing! But he has shattered the chestplate of your armor, reducing its effectiveness by 1 point.
"See, I'm not as easy to kill as you think..." Rylis says, winded from that hit.
"So, what's your little secret agenda, Snith? Are you going to become another of the faceless Jedi and Force users, hunted down and destroyed by the Empire? I've seen it happen. It's not pretty. But I'm sure you think you're too good for that to happen, don't you..."
Rylis will attempt to knock him off his feet, using Trip.
"With the Control, I will..." but you cut him off as you drop low and sweep his feet out from under him, sending him crashing to the ground... but upon impact he smashes his bracers into the ground, propelling him back to his feet almost immediately. He is no longer grinning, instead replacing this smug confident visage with one of intense, boiling anger.
But even with his nifty trick, you have a chance to do... whatever it is you plan on doing, really.
You are in no condition for this fight, Rylis. Not after that shattering punch and all the bolts that Kyle poured your way. With a -3 penalty, a 13 is a Hit, but the base damage is 5 with no Outcome. Snith, utilizing a Force-empowered dodge, blurs to one side and smacks your arm away, the spikes scattering away from him.
Again Snith unleashes the brute force of his kinetic boosters in one solid punch, driving his knuckles directly into your sternum with a resonating boom. He rolls a 19... uh oh. A full-on hit with full impact. The 19 damage it deals carries you up to 102 damage... the only way you are passing that Death Check is on a perfect 20. As it is, you roll an 8.
The kinetic energy is heightened in Snith's blow and transferred to your person, shattering your sternum and sending you flying backwards into the wall behind you. It cracks and powders as you connect, and you drop into the sand, unwilling to move.
"Can't have anyone snitching to the Empire that I've got a plan. I am going to disappear for awhile as things form up. The Emperor is doing things all wrong, but this..." Snith unzips his flight jacket and reveals the black stone strung about his neck, glowing faintly. "This will help me secure the power needed to overthrow his Empire. I will stir the common people against his will... starting with you. Now... get up."
"I said... up," Snith snarls, closing his eyes and raising hand toward you. The Control begins to glow brighter... and there is the sensation of someone putting a hand on the back of your head. In his first attempt, however, he is unable to secure a firm hold over your mind. But you aren't going anywhere and he tries again... this time, there is a distinct, blinding pain emanating from the back of your skull.
UP Snith says, but this time it is not verbal. His mind is linked to yours. Unable to resist, you start to drag yourself to your feet, pain tearing through your chest as shattered bone grates upon itself and its surrounding tissue...
THINGS MUST BE FINISHED Snith thinks. WHAT BETTER WAY THAN THIS.
He forces you to move your arms outward, stretching the muscles across your chest that pull on the bones and grate them further. Your head is pounding and you are sweating profusely as you feel like your ribcage is going to spring open. It is unlikely to happen, but your body can only take so much pain. Your heart will give out if this lasts much longer...
It is hopeless, Rylis. In your weakened state, you can only plead with him to spare you. The immense pain you are experiencing prevents you from any mental concentration.
But suddenly you are relieved. The sensation of a hand clenching your skull retracts. Snith has lost his focus. But without his will exerting itself over control of your body, you return to your fragile state and crash heavily to the ground.
Snith's attention has been pulled away from tormenting your broken body to a newly arrived set of persons in the doorway of the docking bay. The pair of stormtroopers raise their blaster carbines as they move in, followed by a Stormtrooper Commander wearing a green pauldron on his left shoulder.
"Put your hands on your head!" one of them orders.
His enhanced reflexes allow Snith to draw his repeating pistol in one fluid motion and set off a series of shots without even stopping to aim. The stormtrooper is hit the stomach and chest repeatedly as Snith keeps pouring bolts into him. The other stormtrooper tries to line up a burst of his own, but Snith nonchalantly blows open the stormtrooper's helmet with a shot to the mouth and to the forehead.
"I don't think you heard him," the Commander snarls, raising a very formidable heavy repeater. "Hands on your head or I'm going to put so many holes in your body that the coroner won't ever finish counting them. What'll it be?"
Snith looks amused as he levels the repeating pistol toward the stormtrooper. "I choose 'none of the above,'" he quips, before ducking under a volley of bolts from the heavy repeater. The rapid-fire gun battle has begun.
The idiot that is the Commander stands in the entrance, pumping out volley after volley at Snith, who acts with an athleticism you had not seem him display before. Snith flips backwards through the air, putting out shots as he lands behind a crate. A bolt skims the Commander's armor and he recoils into the cover of the archway. The two hammer each others' positions, sections of the entrance wall crumbling under Snith's torrent and the metal crate melting to slag under the heat and power of the Commander's assault weapon.
The Commander sees that this will go nowhere and braves it. Advancing from the archway, he strafes Snith's rapid pistol shots and moves in on the crate, intending to get in nice and close...
Rylis, this Commander is your ticket out of here. If Snith smashes him to pieces with those kinetic boosters of his... but he doesn't know about those, does he?
The Stormtrooper Commander shows no sign of acknowledgement, but you can assume he heard you as he does not bound over the crate as he had planned. Instead, he cuts off his firing to launch a miniature wrist-rocket at Snith, which detonates across the top of the crate and sprays him with shrapnel and sparks, causing him to fall back and briefly stop his own blistering pistolfire. The Commander resumes his.
Is there anything you want to try doing? Sooner or later that Commander might lose or Snith might choose to briefly ignore him...
