Before you are shoved onto the ship, you see a group of the clubbing pirates, well, clubbing a victim. Rather mercilessly. In fact, you don't think they intend to take him alive.
"What's going on?" the Pirate Leader demands. His voice, while you can clearly hear what he is seeing, is somewhat distorted... almost electronic.
"This native tried to fight us!" one of the pirates claims. "Shot Terald with a rifle!"
"Let me see him," the Pirate Leader demands. The henchmen step aside, revealing Wokam.
Wokam's small nose is broken and his eyes are swollen and blacked. He is breathing hard and looks very unwell.
"Help..." he gasps, seeing you.
"He tried fighting?" the Pirate Leader asks.
"Yeah!" the thug says, tossing the Leader his rifle. It's now broken.
"Unusual," the Pirate Leader comments. He drops the rifle and crushes what's left of it beneath his heel. "And highly annoying."
"Please...don't..."
The Pirate Leader reaches for his pistol.
You can feel the Pirate Leader glare at you as he roughly releases the Pydyrian.
"Really? Let's see what the Pydyrian thinks, hmm?"
He crouches down before the Pydyrian again, grabbing him once more by the throat.
"Are you worth something after all? Say so! Speak up!"
Wokam says nothing.
"I will spare you if you look me in the eye and tell me that you are worth my time, Pydyrian."
Wokam speaks. "Will I be a slave?"
"Of course," the Pirate Leader says. "You think I would let you go?"
The henchmen laugh at this comment.
In response to the Pirate Leader, Wokam says nothing, letting himself go limp in the arms of the pirate thugs.
"You still haven't answered me," the Pirate Leader says, reaching for his pistol. "Tell me you're not worthless and that killing one of my men was the best thing you ever did, and I won't kill you."
Wokam says nothing.
Wokam does not look at you.
"You see? Worthless!" The Pirate Leader draws his flintlock pistol and places it against Wokam's forehead.
Pew!
The Pydyrian's body falls to the ground, dead.
"Get him on the ship," the Pirate Leader says to his thugs, indicating you. "Keep watch on him."
With that, they whack you with a stun club and haul you onto the transport, through its cargo bay doors on the side.
Xavier right before they stun him look at the body. His heart rate increases but that is just the body's response to natural stimuli. Truth be told Xavier felt nothing about the death of Wokam.
He was just a possible ally on the inside, that and Xavier was responsible for his death. Yet Xavier was already looking past his death. Then everything went black, and he was dragged unto the Cargo ship.
The cargo bay of the transport is rather expansive. You might even be able to fit a shield generator into one of them comfortably. But for now, it's absolutely packed full of people, all frightened, all shouting, all minorly injured.
The fear is overwhelming to your senses, but luckily you are not so sensitive that this feeling is debilitating.
Pirates continue to cram more captives into the hold and occasionally re-stun some of those hostages already stuck here with you. Four pirates, at the Leader's bidding, stand guard over you with rifles.
You do notice that none of the prisoners are Pydyrian. The majority are human, with a handful of other races. The Almanian System is notoriously dominated by humans with few exceptions. Very few species find anything of value on Almania itself.
Soon, the hold is overcrowded. People are smashed against each other... except you. You've got room to breath because you're surrounded by four pirate guards.
