STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Brothers

Well, what if Einar decides to kill me on sight?

You can dodge his attacks, and you feel that he will not bring as much firepower as you have accompanying you.

Indeed, he believes in his own supremacy as a warrior - he would not consider his weak, younger brother a real threat. And it shall prove his undoing.

Melkor will look around and check weapon again, preparing for the confrontation.

And so you wait. Time seems to pass slowly as you anticipate the arrival of Einar, trying to imagine how it will happen and how you will feel after the deed is done...

In the dim lighting of the warehouse, you see the figures of men moving into the warehouse. They raise rifles in your direction, but do not fire.

"Melkor Esgabath, you are hereby under arrest for initiating acts of terrorism against the estate of Einar Esgabath," shouts one of the men. "On your knees, vermin."

It is a portion of Einar's personal guard, six men total.

"Does my brother fear me so much that he didn`t come himself? This is not dear Einar I know." Speaks Melkor, ready to jump for cover at any moment.

"It is not for you to question to heir's decisions," he says. "On your knees or we will shoot."

Melkor considers his choices, feeling uneasy. Did he overestimate his brother`s rash nature? Hopefully, he is still around.

"Please, I don`t have any weapons!" He raises his hands. "I came to save my world. I have final offer of peace, approved by the Imperial authorities. There is no time to waste!"

The soldiers hesitate, unsure what to make of what you say. They keep their rifles trained on you, however.

"Keep talking," the leader says.

"There is no time to waste! I must speak with my brother immediately! Before the Imperial invasion commences!"

Melkor is of course ready to jump for cover if they decide to shoot."

The officer glares before reaching for his comlink.

"Check him for weapons," he tells one of his subordinates before putting the comlink to his mouth. "Einar, we have your brother in custody. He wants to speak with you in person."

The soldier is going to confiscate your blaster pistol, Melkor.

"Where is my brother?"

Well, losing it would not be such an issue if Einar comes in person, but if he doesn`t come, would it not make more sense for soldiers to bring Melkor to the palace?

The soldier confiscating your blaster tells you that your brother is at the palace in his command center (which is simply the throne room for this militant society; they move equipment in and run things from there).

The officer finishes talking with Einar. "We are to escort you to the Palace, prisoner. I suggest you do not cause us any trouble. We have orders to shoot to kill."

Well, I don`t think I reasonably have enough force to take thw palace? And could I signal to my force to secretly follow Melkor while he is taken prisoner?

They are not incredibly stealthy, your forces, but the greatest advantage of the faux invasion landing that the Imperials are staging is that it will draw the majority of the Erengardian forces away from the mountain and, by association, the palace.

Would Arvus and the Commander be smart enough to follow Melkor being escorted as prisoner to the Palace, if he makes a hand motion or something like this? If so, that is a plan.

You aren't so sure about the mangey assassin, but you imagine that the Commander would get the drift of your 'plan.'

What, exactly, are you trying to achieve? Not shooting the soldiers immediately has the benefit of not alerting everyone via gunshots that something is amiss, but Esgabath is now in custody and unarmed, with his own soldiers trailing behind.

Well, then Einar may not be alerted before we reach the palace. I hoped my men would follow and free Melkor at the Palace entrance.

The soldiers roughly push you along the city streets of Maurenburg, having come to meet you on foot. Night has fallen but there are plenty of people in the streets to see the Erengardian soldiers off as they march to war against the Empire. Some hurl insults at you, your return seeming to herald the coming invasion, but the soldiers keep everyone back and away.

Soon they reach the Palace. There are less soldiers manning the walls, but their rifles are trained on you. The two emplaced guns on either side of the gates are operational as well.

"Open the gates!" shouts one of your captors. A man on the walls nods and speaks into his comlink. The gate starts to grind open.

I quess Esgabath will not be able to reasonably get free at this point? What about his men passing the gates?

He is not restrained by he is totally and completely outgunned.

That is, until the soldiers holding him captive are suddenly raked with blasterfire from the Commander and his men as they emerge from behind the nearby structures! Your customized pistol skitters along the ground, and Esgabath finds himself with a brief moment in which to grab it as the Erengardian soldiers on the wall turn their attention to the incoming revolutionary fighters...
