Unneeded. Having gotten yourself into an advantageous position, you fire as if you have rolled the maximum Outcome. Your blast skims Einar's shoulder for 8 damage. He whirls on the spot and fires a flurry of bolts back in your direction... but only to cover his withdrawal, deeper into the Maze. Einar hurtles down another pathway, out of your sight.

Maybe Melkor should find his allies before going deeper after Einar?

They did not enter the Maze. You would have to get in touch with them.

Do I have communicator with me for this purpose?

You do.

Melkor will call Janus and ask him to bring help inside to finish Einar.

"We've cleared up resistance at the entrance of the Maze," Janus says. "I am unsure how well I trust my knowledge of the Maze, but I can do my best to link up with you. Arvus and Skrall will have to stay with me; they do not have any knowledge of how to navigate this place."

Melkor will then try to keep in touch with Janus while looking for Einar.

Judging by the path he took, you attempt to cut him off by choosing a different path and moving deeper into the tall hedges that make up the Maze.

Somewhere behind you, you hear the poomf! and boom! of Arvus' railgun. Humming laserfire has quieted and fades out completely after a moment, but the railgun keeps going off every so often. That sound remains familiar and you find yourself trying to remember where you heard it before today...

Where was it?

You heard it the last time you were on Erengard, just before you were poisoned...

Does it mean that Arvus was involved with Einar, or....

Maybe it was just a coincidence? Assasins could use similar weapons...

It would be a very strange coincidence. What would be most telling is if Arvus has a means of launching poison darts, you suspect.

This is certainly disturbing! Now we need to focus on Einar...

He will now have to avoid Janus and company as well as you, so you can narrow down what parts of the labyrinth he will be in. It is another Savoir-Faire roll to suss where he will be heading... and you are pretty sure he is heading for the center of the Maze.

Let's follow him , carefully...

Cautiously, you edge your way toward the center of the Great Maze... and you spot him down a length of hedges, just as he spots you!
