Prime was bloodlusted...
😐
Is it that hard to put two and two together?

Fuck it actually... no point... no point.

Monarch wasnt toying with him he thought he killed him. Prime ended the fight because hes...Superman. 😉

Prime was bloodlusted. That city destroying blast didn't seem like "toying" though.
A city is nothing compared to a universe...

Also...

Prime was responsible for destroying his ideal universe. His goal was completely shattered by his own actions.

He was the much bigger dumbass in that scenario. 🙂

Also, Prime was on the losing end of that encounter for the majority of the time. His last desperation move of ripping Monarch's armor doesn't exactly mean that he won the fight. If anything, he lost... big time.

Monarch hurt him and then Prime responded by ending the fight. Prime ended it and not the other way around, and like I said earlier Monarch thought he ended it and was dead wrong.

And Prime isnt the smartest villain out there so looking at both characters and their lack of foresight I d say Monarch screwed up worse. But you disagree and I am fine with that. 🙂

Which ended up destroying his entire goal from the very beginning.

Thank you very much. 🙂

Yes you are right imo. Monarch wasnt toying with him at all.

He also destroyed Monarch's multiversal plans of domination along with it. Monarch wasnt clever or powerful enough to defeat Prime here. I guess there are somethings you just cant plan for. 😛

The fact that the dialogue has Monarch stating: "Tell my army I'm fine, tell them I won. How else could this have ended?" This tells me he was going for a win.

Also, he appeared to be surprised when Prime was still alive.

Here's the whole scan.

Anyway, that's what I got from the fight. I noted speculation in the first place because this thread started to break down into another "Nuh uh" "Yuh huh" debate.

Of course he's powerful enough. That's not the issue here.

And actually, Monitor's plan somewhat came to fruition. Most of the Monitor's died in that explosion.

But Prime's plan? Failed in every possible way. 🙂

Luckily the Monitors teleported away. Or some at least.

Exactly. Monarch is very cocky and his dialogue could be mistaken because of this. He thought Prime was dead and thus made a big mistake. Prime then tore his armor off and concluded the fight.

Monarchs Blast < A plant kinda

Toying with him? No.

Holding back? Obviously.

Is this seriously the best evidence you've got to substantiate your claim?

As we've seen from Monarch in the past, he can kill tons of characters without "going all out." 🙂

The fact that he said "How else could this have ended?" only tells me that he didn't think of Prime as being a legitimate threat.

In a forum fight? Monarch owns Prime.

Monarch's plan wasnt to have his armor ripped off and to have his army totally destroyed. He wanted to annihilate all the Monitors didnt he?

Prime being the wild card that he is screwed over everyone including himself. But dont worry as I am sure he will be back and will be pissed off forever at Monarch for this having occurred.

Again my boy Prime hasnt been defeated. 😛

Quan may be on to something with Monarch being cocky or overconfident. I'd like to hear what everybody thinks about that idea.

What I don't get is how the Monitors couldn't have easily won, Monarch's explosion killed everyone, but the Monitor...who survived completely unharmed...
