I'd pick a Green Lantern ring. I could do anything Superman could do to the maximum meaningful degree in the real world. Meaning I wouldn't need the ability to move or burn an entire planet with no villains or crazy circumstances that happen in the comics.
Depending on how well the ring takes care of you, you're lifespan would probably approach 100 years and in that time whoever wants it can probably figure out immortality or at least extended life.

well, thats yur opinion. however look at how their fights go, and he generally hits as good as he *gets hit*, so I wouldnt sneeze at his STR.

2) I meant Lobo was a gag-character, does weird-ass crazy things normally... so I don't really know if he's all that good a benchmark. it may just have been funnier to see him try and fail, making for a shorter compact story, rather than him getting the ring and starting off some other adventure ...

Can he will something ala his lantern/battery to power-up the ring indefinitely?
Something to give him immortality/agelessness?
Something to amp his powers-up to unlimited lvls?(Say a helmet that made them the smartest in the universe, and some super lab to alter himself with nanotech, mystic arts tech, etc)
IF he can do any of that I take gl. If not I take superman since he can potentially be ageless/immortal and constantly increase his powers(according to the one million comics)

to answer all of that: yes, a GL=Ring is capable of doing so. the Rings have shown (numerous times) the easily-done capability to re-write a persons physiology, even altering genetic code, so if U have just a bit of knowledge about DNA U *could* re-work it into something MORE than human.
so in short, its like a few posters have said: U could make yurself into Superman (if U so wished) , and still have the Ring.

GL ring ANY TIME> OMG. A GL Ring was able to beat A version of Amazo with EVERY SUPER POWER on earth. Superman gets beat up by the weaker versions of Amazo. A GL ring held a big Bang. Superman Can't hold a star. A GL Ring allows it's user to change thier dna, suck up planets worth of souls, etc. In reality, a well trained Person with a GL ring would embarrass someone well trained with Superman's powers.
