"If he made it out of the colony at all," Gabriel says. He thinks about something, then puts a hand on your shoulder. "Get some sleep, son. You'll need it tomorrow."
--
Gabriel rouses you sometime later. You could use more sleep, but Sunda is out there with a possible Dark Jedi terrorist and Corellia is under siege.
"Good news, son," Gabriel says, and you see Sky Ninabu, the Jedi sent to accompany you, standing behind him, her robes pulled tight about her in contemplation.
"I informed your partner about the possible Dark Side and pre-colony Jenet connection," Gabriel says. "It seems we were on the right track."
"I called the Council on this," Sky says, "and I have some friends in the Archives who could investigate the possibility. It seems we have a match, and the Council expanded our mandate to investigate further."
"Former Jedi Knight Quam Ak-toh."
You never met the man, but you know the name. It came up when reading up on things after your return from Zeiton. You went on Master Gundark's unorthodox mission with only a rough understanding of who the Chancellor sent them to apprehend.
Quam's name came up in Kuylen's file.
Quick adjustment- Quam actually never made it to the Knight stage, having been deemed too old and too troublesome to train as a youth, before he even made Padawan status.
"A Jedi Knight discovered him as a youth and brought him to Coruscant to initiate his training," Sky tells you. "Apparently he crashed on Garban as a child, the only survivor, and the Jenet raised him as one of their own."
"Which means he had access to the Kalat and the Jenet leadership," Gabriel adds.
"The Order lost track of Quam after the attempted Damagran secession that Kuylen's associates played a role in," Sky continues. "No confirmed sightings of the man on Malastare or during any of Kuylen's activities thereafter."
(I guess this is the game of "Run into old PC's", although I was looking quickly and I don't remember/couldn't find Quam anywhere although it was before I showed up)
"Well that certainly explains things. He must also have been behind the Cult of the Red Rain. So if we can find out where they are based, we can probably find Sunda. That sounds like something our captured cultist friend can help us out with."
(Queeq played him prominently in Episode I and II of the first campaign, long before the "Mausoleum of Demnos" became a known thing.)
Gabriel feels certain that the Cultists call the Jenet colony their headquarters. Before you established that link, Gabriel and his CorSec detectives could not establish where they operated from. The colony makes sense.
Indeed!
Gabriel already has the warrant written up for the arrest of Lord Fenring, who resides at his estate out in the countryside, away from Coronet and the Jenet colony. He can't pull too many CorSec officers away from busting Red Rain cells and responding to emergency calls, or from keeping the colony safely contained, but he will go with you and take a handful of his expert gunmen.
"I must stay here to continue our mandate," Sky says. "I will ensure the Diktat's safety. Go find Sunda and bring this Quam character to justice."
