since you see fit to call me coward, Stacks, I call you such for not entering Red's tournament.

I think you should enter this tournament and settle it. If it is as "broken" as you say it is, then it shouldn't be a problem because its both "broken" for you AND your opponent. Not to mention all your favorites, Darkseid, Thanos, and Apocalypse are all in the tournament. Plus you can buy abilities to give you freedom to explore strategies. It is the perfect opportunity to get your favorite character and settle it once and for all with your rival Papa Smurph. It will be a great dissappointment if you pass on this great opportunity.

-------------------------------------------

NOT TO MENTION I HAVE YET TO SEE ANYONE ACTUALLY BRING UP ANY SPECIFIC "BROKEN" EXAMPLES. Just consistently saying it over and over again doesn't make it true. Maybe the tournament isn't "broken", but the people who refuse to enter AND verbally complain about it are really the ones who are "broken."

I issue a challenge to anyone who thinks this tournament is broken. Enter it and prove me wrong. Otherwise, be quiet, and watch those who are actually willing to participate in a new format fight and have fun.

In fact, I don't even care if you have 1000 posts or not to qualify to join this tournament. If you actually want to prove me wrong and enter this tournament, then be my guest, otherwise no more complaints about how "broken" it is please.

Here is a specific example: No one on the draft list stands the slightest chance against the Thunderbolt. Not one.

Here is another specific example: The power brackets are whacked. You've got Graviton and 70's Thanos ranked higher than GL's and most Heralds of Galactus. You've got Grey Gargoyle ranked above Hulk, Juggernaut and Iron-Man, even before he shels out the extra points to use his "Death Touch."

Here is yet another specific example: By the time many characters in the lower brackets pay for all their abilities, they'll cost as much or more as characters in the higher brackets despite not being as powerful. Kang and Adam Warlock are examples, as is any Herald of Galactus if you want to fully use the Power Cosmic and speed.

"Enter it and prove me wrong" is a cop out, as we the participants should not have to suffer through weeks of frustrating problem-filled drafting and matches to demonstrate that just maybe you didn't execute your cool idea perfectly from the get-go.

(Oh, and Smurf, I'm not a B-List debater)

Before I admit to starting horrible, nasty rumors about you behind your back- are you referring to me, or my fanboy?

What's the matter, afraid to fight in the big leagues?

TricksterPriest on this tourney and the quality of debator in it 😉

Eh. I'm noticing some varied levels of involvement. It's understandable, but not a testament to any one factor. One tourney still going on, and two others starting soon, and all will suffer as a result.

Maybe it'll pick up once ill's ends.

Laminator_X is a exception. But, he has pointed out repeatedly what I myself said about the formatting. So you've shot yourself with your own gun.

And I suspect Laminator may drop out if the format is not repaired.

... (was going to say more but thought better of it, nobody wants a flame-war)

Based on what I've seen

Guarunteed you wouldn't make it out of the first round in this tourney.

In fact based on what I've seen

the only way you win is by facing someone with a tech suit reliant amalgam

in Kitty's phased body.

I am just curious, where have you gotten your information on Thunderbolt? Either way, There are plenty of characters that can beat Thunderbolt, and not to mention ways in this tournament to beat him or bfr him.

Grey Gargoyle doesn't have a death touch, unless you want to turn someone else to stone. You don't have to pay for it You really should stop assuming things, and just ask me. Plenty of your competitors have been asking me on things they are unsure of. I would show you their examples, but I think they PM'd me out of not wanting to reveal their strategy. Pre-Ressurection Thanos took on The Thing and Thor at the same time. Why do you keep calling him "70's Thanos" as if it is a bad thing?

Laminator, you sound like your frustrated and don't exactly know what strategy to use or what costs what or what to buy. I have told repeatedly over and over, ask me if you have any questions at all, Not everything can be written down in stone and I have done my best to be as specific as possible in the rules page. That is why I am here, to answer your questions so you are not frustrated. And remember, this is only the sign-ups! All questions and comments will get cleared up before the drafts with the Tournament discussion thread.

I'll co-sign not wanting the flame war. I won't be happy if anyone decides that they want to muddle someone else's tourney with flaming and insults.

Has it been mentioned how the drafting is going to work.

There will be four days of drafting. Each of the first three days, you can choose any one character or one item by paying the points necessary for that person or item. On the fourth day, you allot all the rest of your points on whatever you wish on a first come, first serve basis. You can draft as many characters as you have points for, e.g., 25 streets, 12 metas, etc. Voting for fights will last until the next fight is posted or I close the match thread. 1 match will take place per day. Every person entered in the tournament must vote.

Since you have elected to not participate, unless you have a specific example you want addressed, I ask that you refrain from making anymore negative comments in this thread.

Well from JSA comics and various web sites mainly. He's a 5th dimensional imp much like Bat-Mite or Mixzptlk. If Jakeem says "Freeze the other team in time for 10 minutes so I win," nobody on the list could stop it.

I understand that. Without turning people to stone, what on Earth makes Grey Gargoyle on the same level as Superman, World War Hulk, or the Sentry?

I'm posting questions and criticisms here in this thread so that everyone can benefit from them, in hopes that we can all build our teams on a level playing-field.

Originally posted by Evangel94 Pre-Ressurection Thanos took on The Thing and Thor at the same time. Why do you keep calling him "70's Thanos" as if it is a bad thing?

It's only a bad thing because in his original incarnation, he was no more powerful than the Silver Surfer, probably less so, yet you have him classed higher than Norin. Again, the tiers seem arbitrary and inaccurate.

I was the first time I pointed this out:

Warlock 6 + Soul Suck 8 + Organic Matter Transmutation 7 =21

There's one.

Kang 6 + Time Manip 19 = 25 pts

There's another.

Most of the Heralds of Galactus will top 20 if you pay for lightspeed attack, a mega-attack, and matter-trans.

I can come up with plenty of strategies, thank you. I am frustrated because instead of addressing any of these issues, you have responded (at least within the thread) by either refusing to admit there's anything wrong, or by turning it around and criticizing the critic (calling people chicken, suggesting that I lack ideas) instead of addressing the criticism itself.
