No offense Evangel but this tournament is becoming a farce 😬

I don't see any reason for the matches to continue. Most of the forum is actively attempting to disrupt it at this point. At this point only Trickster's failed coup of his own tournament has been so ridiculous.

There's simply too much going wrong (from your end and from everyone else's) for there to be any reason to drop out. The rule change you instated was provoked and will just be used to attack you.

I respectfully withdraw from the tournament on the basis that it has become confused and half the forum has resorted to adolecent disruptions that make debating meaningless. You had a very good idea but the rules should really have been hammered out in more detail rather than trusting people to follow the spirit of the rules. I had fun but this has all become too much.

Good luck if you continue or in any further tournaments.

Hmm...,

Well, it's a shame you feel that way, and I feel you should give the new voting system a chance before making any decisions.

Since all the matches have already been scheduled, I will hold your match anyway. Your match doesn't start for a few days, and it should give you time to think over your decision. If you truly still feel that you wish to leave, simply post "I am no longer going to fight in this tournament" at the beginning of your match with either King Kandy or Zeitgeist. I will then award the win to whomever you are fighting. If you do end up changing your mind, then the match thread will still be there waiting for you, along with the new additions to the voting system.

Sincerely,
-Evangel94

Ever thought about giving the tourney up?

Evangel, if it’s at all possible I'd like to request my match gets pushed back to Sunday. I'll be gone from tonight to well into tomarrow night. Sorry for the last minute notice, this was sprung on me today and I don’t have much say in the matter. Thanks in advance.

Sure. 🙂

I'll have to check with Devil Lance, but I don't think it's going to be a problem. Your match with Devil Lance is sure to be an interesting battle to watch.

Re: New Voting System

A new voting system has been established for the remainder of this tournament. The requirement for voting is still 1000 posts. This will not change, as I encourage non-participants to vote in matches. Also, current participants are still required to vote. Regular participants and non-participants will each have one vote.

However, what will change is that there will be three (3) "Supervoters" per match. What is a "supervoter?" A supervoter is someone whose vote will count as three regular votes. They will be named by me ahead of time before a match. They can either a be a participant or a non-participant, but must have at least 1000 posts to qualify be a supervoter. Supervoters will rotate each match so there will be not be a person who is a supervoter for two matches in a row.

I meant to use this system in the finals to compensate for the declining amount of voters per match and to make things more interesting. However I feel it is better to implement it immediately, and sooner rather than later because I feel the amount of people voting has declined faster than expected.

-Evangel94

So is this your way of "secretly" controling who wins in matches so things go more your way?

Seriously, all you have to do is tell some people whom you designate as the super voters to vote the way you want them two and instantly you have more votes for the person you want to win.

Sorry if I have a suspicious mind but there's been things like this popping up quite frequently... you started to debate in one of the matches before you edited into "questions"... you caved to people whom had no evidence just because they whined... Even that rule Change in the middle was poorly thought out and had a detrimental effect... Rather than giving whom ever was to face trick when he dropped out an auto win like you offered Sym, you brought in some one new with what appeared to be one of your own "suggested teams"... Giving Sym some time to think about reentering when you didn't let Digi back in when he asked to come back in...

So no, I don't have a lot of trust left in this tournament. It really does look like its turning into a farce...

If you have something to say about me specifically, come out and say it. Throughout this tournament you've had nothing but snide insinuations and I ignored em. Sure they were childish and annoying, but they weren’t directed at me. But now they are, and you're seriously on my last nerve. First of all, Evangel offered me the opportunity to join because I wasn’t able to finish her last tournament due to a personal emergency. She was nothing but understanding and polite with me when I had to bail, so I accepted. Second, I’m not using her ‘suggested teams’ whatever the **** that means. I like Morg and the other heralds, hell I used him in my last tournament, and since most other characters were taken anyway and I came in late with a handicap, I thought why not. You wanna talk about odd coincidences? How about you voting for spunkysmurph in all 4 of his matches without giving a legitimate reason for the vote. Or how every time Digi posted against the tourney you came running like a good little lap dog? Or how about making a joke team before any of this stuff even happened? You’ve obviously been biased against her tourney since the very beginning... But maybe I just have a suspicious mind, tee hee.

For those reading.....pardon my outburst here. I rarely tend to get angry, but I feel I really need to address this.

WTF? Seriously? Are you serious? You can't be serious. Secretly controlling who wins? What the hell is this Creshosk? Now you're just getting ridiculously paranoid. The supervoters rotate every match so its not the same person two matches in a row, and All current participants get a chance to be a supervoter at least once as well as non-participants who vote regularly so their opinion is expressed for everyone to see. Even if I wanted to it would be impossible.

It is the same idea as having 3 judges for a tournament match. However, I didn't just want to have tournament matches to be limited to just 3 people deciding the entire battle. That's why I incorporated and created a hybrid system of both "Supervoters" and regular voters. Supervoters can disagree with one another, and can be overridden given enough regular voters or supervoters disagreeing with another.

In fact, I announce supervoters only right before the match starts to prevent them from being influenced ahead of time, and getting forum pressure to vote for the fan-favorite, and only focus objectively on the battle. If people knew ahead of time who they were, then they could be pressured.

HOW DARE YOU. I would never, NEVER tell anyone how to vote, and I am deeply hurt and angered that you would suggest that. I never tell people how to vote. Anyone who has received a supervoter invitation, can vouch for that.

In fact your accusation doesn't even make any sense! How the hell am I supposed to tell every single person in this tournament who to vote for, and why would they even listen to me?! Everyone has their own opinion, which is what makes tournament votes interesting to read, and why I require people to at least type out an explanation so everyone can understand their votes.

I have been allowing people to vote freely for all four tournaments I have held. That's right four. I don't tell people how to vote, and I encourage them to vote freely. My history shows that.

Sorry if I have a suspicious mind but there's been things like this popping up quite frequently... you started to debate in one of the matches before you edited into "questions"... you caved to people whom had no evidence just because they whined...

Caved in? I am not even going to touch this. You don't agree with my decision. That's fine, but stop bringing it up over and over. What's done is done. Badabing tolled you to drop it, so drop it.

Some one "new"? Typhus is NOT new. He was in the last slugfest showdown. Do you not recall Digimark saying how he remembered Typhus from the last Slugfest showdown?

In fact I asked a lot of forum regulars if they were interested in participating in the tournament to replace TricksterPriest. Many declined due to various circumstances, and I even went back in the tournament archives and asked former slugfest participants if they would like to join as a replacement.

TricksterPriest fought one match, and basically just dropped out after that. It was still early in the tournament, there were at least 10 to 12 people still in the tournament actively. Typhus came in relatively early on in the tournament. I would much rather give them a challenge by fighting a real person, then wasting their time and giving them free wins.

But as this tournament is coming to a close and a tournament champion will be crowned soon, I do not have the luxury of bringing in new people. That would be extremely unfair. I hold last chance rounds to give competitors a second chance.

As to "suggested teams" I don't even remember what your talking about.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Creshosk I invited you to join this tournament because I read one of the previous tournament posts in which you brought out information about manga characters I wasn't personally aware of. You then made the claim that you would not stand for ignorance of characters. I was personally touched and thought you would bring the same attitude you did in that match to this tournament.

However, from the moment you started you picked a joke team loaded with girls and have constantly made sexual references, I personally do not like at all. You talk about handing out free wins, but how about the fact that every single person who has faced you has practically gotten a free win. Do you really think thats fair that you didn't even provide a challenge for anyone who faced you?

I've been as tolerant, kind, and understanding as I possibly can to everyone in this tournament. But this...you really crossed the line here Creshosk.

It means she made suggestions about teams to people back when they were picking out characters, and your team looks like one of her suggestions. I'm not saying it IS I'm just saying that it looks like one.

And let me tell you, attacking the shadow king, a creature of psionic energy, with physical means such as doom bots was brilliant... I'm sure you can pick up on my sarcasm...

No you're right. But so what? I participated and followed the rules. When I was denied the characters I wanted I didn't raise such a stink I got banned, did I? Nope, she made her rulings, I complained a little and moved on. Big whoop.

How impossible is it when its people you designate? What was the signifigance of highlighting "me" in that sentence?

So you announce them before the match so that they don't get pressured into it, instead of announcing who it is before the voting phase?

But you at least once started to argue against one of the contestants in one of the recent matches... and I'm pretty sure its not the first time you stepped in like that.

Oh you can trust my paid informant to tell you that I didn't pay him. Isn't that right paid informant.
Paid informant: I was never paid.

You wouldn't need to tell everyone. just the "supervoters". Say Kandy, Master Bruce and Typhus for example.

Times they do a change... I don't know of your behavior in previous tournaments, but in this one I've seen you change rules to favor one side and actively argued against a competitor in a match you were not supposed to be debating in. I don't need your past record to show how you acted this time.

he told me to drop it against Master Bruce and Joey Stacks. That does not mean I have to accept underhanded actions.

This is the first and last tournament I've participated in as a competitor. I have no love of tournaments. Hence why I picked a joke team.

Yeah, cause I was consistant about it. EVERYONE was able to beat me, not like some people could beat me then a rule change made them not able to...

😐

Um... all of my matches were the same... they were all people assuming the least, and finding the exact same problems that they couldn't overcome in every scenario. Cresh was evidently one of the handful that realized this.

Otherwise, enough with the insinuations of biased votes... I assure you someone as vocal as Cresh can reason out his votes if you really need him to. And I don't appreciate my name being tossed around in the accusations.

Also, I'm pretty damn sure I only had three matches. We have a place to put innaccurate, asinine accusations of ulterior motives and "odd coincidences" founded from poor research and little forethought.

It's called the Conspiracy Forum.

Anyways, wiping my hands of this tournament. Adios.

I apologize if that seemed like a personal attack. I really wasn’t trying to slander you, I was just saying the fact that Creshosk had a pattern of behavior without giving an actual reason for his votes seemed pretty biased; considering that he’s throwing around similar accusations.

Well the first person Smurph faced tried to attack incoporeal beings with very much coporeal attacks... and let me tell you things REALLY improved after that point.

Seriously did you even read Smurph's matches or are you just throwing sand because I touched a nerve? Oh sorry, "your last nerve"?

And no, I was suspicious of you from the time you first came in.

cresh chill out.

lets all stop pointing fingers and directly addressing one another cause that is lamer than the stuff you all are arguing over.

true a lot of competitors dropped out but since they dropped out, their arguments left with them right? at least thats how it's supposed to go.

Ok, that's the second time you've used that example (corporeal attacks man!) and you didn't even try to refute my other points... Quite telling.

Throwing sand? Well, really my only point was that you're being a hypocritical dick, which, you've proven. Suppose there no need to continue arguing then... 😊
