I'm pretty sure CoD is owned by Activision and not Infinity Ward.
Correct

Infinity Ward shouldn't have let Activision make the game
Not there product they don't have a say in what Activision does with there own series.

This would be a fun game if it weren't for the respawning enemies
That was a major problem i had with COD4's single player, especially in No fighting in the war room.

LOLI think WWII games are enough unless you play a japanese solider or a nazi fella that could change the outcome like the axis winning WWII.
Which would send the "realism" of the games out of the window, and of course i doubt many people would like to see Hitler rule the world, you can just tell it would get on the news or something, maybe Jack Thompson would bring some stuff up about it...bad idea to let the Nazi's win, all things considering.
Yeah, aside from the respawning enemies, this is probably the best Cod i've played yet. It is by far the most immersive and frantic. The controls are, once again, smooth and ultra responsive. I had no problem what so ever going back to World War 2 because the developers put a lot of work into this game and it shows. Again, my only gripe which hurts these COD games a great deal is the CONSTANT respawns. I understand that having a never ending stream of enemies coming at you helps to create a more, war like, atmosphere but when it is used through out the entire game it is cheap. I would rather see certain battles have a never ending assembly line of soldiers interchanged with areas that have a limited set of enemies.
Either way, i had a lot of fun playing this game and i personally feel that it was better than cod4 but i'm not one to bother with online multiplayer

Well said dude.Modern era 👆 👆
World War II 👇 👇
Modern era fps's are starting to saturate the scene too, you know. Almost as much as wwII games seemimgly have.
Future-based fps'll be the next to flood the market soon afterwards, if it's not doing it right now, already.
So what'll happen when people start complaining about those fps..
Do you stop playing them? Maybe companies/publishers "(cough), EA ermm" need to wake up and smell the foldgers. I just hope they don't become to crazy and liberal with the concept and "postalize" every fps, including the serious ones.
Some of us'll just never get tired of fps sims.
Modern Fps games dwarf the number of World War II games. Modern era war games offer numerous situations and environments. World War II games only have one situation to work with. Personally, i love good World War II games. I like the weapons, the lack of technology and the old world architecture that's usually found in the environments. I like Modern era war games just as much but i can see why people are turned off by them. The one thing that i hate about many modern war games are the stories. The desire to be ultra realistic spills over in the story causing the plot to get lost in technical and political rhetoric.

Not true. It'd be perfectly feasible to have a WWII game where you're playing a Nazi and you're fighting through Europe pre D-Day. The Nazi's smacked the ever living shit out of the allies all through the Eastern European theater, and France. Remember, making the British turn tail and run back to Britain, blitzkrieg'ing Poland, taking out France... ?
There's plenty of "noble" victories for you to play through as a Nazi, even if they ultimately lost the war.
And in Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, the concept was that the Nazi's had defeated the D-Day effort, taken over the entire European continent, and had taken the battle to the American homefront... so it's not that differant a concept anyway.

I've been saying that throughout the thread.
Modern shooters easily outnumber WW2 shooters. Easily.
I love WW2 shooters because I play historic battles like Bocage, and see how it actually happened ( or close to it).
Modern games, yes they have different stories throughout but the majority all fall in the same line as others. You fight a battle that has no significance in some fake Middle Eastern, or Eastern Europe nation.
What I want is another WW2 battlefield game with crazy good graphics and revamped shooting engine with the advancements that BF2 had with squad mechanics. Or go the World In Conflict route and actually have a modern shooter like COD in North America. Wouldnt it be sweet to have an open world shooter in your own backyard..that would be awesome.

i'd love a battlefield 2 redux with your specs. that would be perfect actually. it's ok though. it's only a matter of time before we get a good BF game and I feel it's the next one.
but for your second statement, unless you want it to be fiction-based, then an open world cod-usa would work real well. i'd make it happen in multiple major cities. hey "act of war" did the best job at that even though it's an rts but you have nuclear war fights right on capitol hill. in fact you can nuke capitol hill and the games' got great graphics too.
but if you want a cod u.s. based war sim, the way you specifically like it then, "cod"-civil war- is what has to do cause that was obviusly the last war fought on u.s. soil. and I mean, I don't know how exciting that'd be. I never played a civil war game so I can't say or judge.
Revive dead enemies? I get the feeling you took that idea from Stubbs the Zombie.
Anyways, CoD is turning ****** because of it being in WWII. I think they should make a sci-fi CoD game. Just look at Insomniac's Resistance for example. It's during WWII but there's a friggin alien invasion in it (which is awesome). If they're gonna stick with WWII, at least add something that would really hype up gamers.
