Haven't actually picked up COD5 yet, but I will quote my friend who's already got something like 40 hours on it and played COD4 obsessively until a week ago.
"They're the EXACT same game, except you can sic dogs on people instead of call in airstrikes, and prestige takes 65 levels now instead of 55. Oh, and zombie Nazis."
Every single person I know who's played both has said the same. Considering most of my friends are fans of FPSs, this is a lot.

I don't understand how people complain about COD5 being another WW2 shooter while COD4 could be labeled as just another modern shooter.I always think if the gameplay is great, then setting wont matter that much. The only time I hear people say that is because of a bad game.
Because "Modern shooters" are basically FPS's set in space with humans or a special kind of human fighting of hordes of aliens right now, as i said with a few exceptions FPS's nowadays seem to either be about WWII or a space marine/human fighting of aliens.

Wouldnt those be "future" shooters?
And modern shooters with enemies that are terrorists.
Havnt played COD5, but even COD4 is almost exact copy of COD2 and COD. The difference is that they looked at Battlefield 2 MP stats and unlock system and made it better.
I got huge case of deja vu playing COD4 SP. It's identical to the first two, outside of new guns.

Yea i got to agree there, alot of FPS are about WWII, WWII this WWII that. Its getting so damn annoying already and with WWII games we always know the outcome.
I actually liked COD4's single player , hell it was a blast and at the moment i don't feel COD5's singleplayer is as great as 4's. Well it is even boring me sometimes.
But seriously, don't they get that we just don't like WWII games? Enough of the past and more of the current moden era please.

Infinity Ward shouldn't have let Activision make the game because bringing the fight back into its old roots is just pissing the fans off. It's kinda like how Team Silent let Double Helix make Silent Hill 5 and that game ended up a disaster.
