Revive dead enemies? I get the feeling you took that idea from Stubbs the Zombie.

Anyways, CoD is turning ****** because of it being in WWII. I think they should make a sci-fi CoD game. Just look at Insomniac's Resistance for example. It's during WWII but there's a friggin alien invasion in it (which is awesome). If they're gonna stick with WWII, at least add something that would really hype up gamers.

And then it would become just another Halo clone or a clone of any other shooter that's not based on a historical war, considering everyone going down the fight aliens route these days.

what hasn't been done though

Aliens? check
Nazis? check
Japansese? check
other human armies? check
terrorists? check
dinosaurs? check
zombies? check

what's left?...an FPS based around killing vampires or ghosts

at least world at war wears its influences on it's sleeve...the stalingrad sniper mission?...obviously takes a huge not from enemy at the gates...as for blatently

hell they even took their cue from iconic pictures such as

I think it would be awesome if the COD games followed a story and actually stuck to a main character for once. I hate playing different characters all of the time, especially since most of them just die by the end. Maybe they could start incorporating some cutscenes too, and I don't mean the 1st person ones.

But the developers seriously need to start thinking of different ways to change these games up. And for the love of god, please don't put in aliens!

at least aliens would be a more realistic concept than some zombies. extraterrestrial life does exists somewhere outside'a this rock. and they'd be more of a challenege too.

i'd call it "Call of Duty: Invasion" or somethin'. it'll be like cod4 and and the box art would have a few modern soldiers on some dirt or asphalt road, fiercly shooting in front of them with two huge, barely visibly, yet menacing almond-shaped eyes up above, behind them, over shadowing them. and it would take place in the u.s. in boston. hehe.

Tbh i would like that or a "Call of Duty" with space technology.

hey, yea.

like defeat some curois devilish aliens here at home, jack their saucer and weapons, learn to use 'em, fly out to the up to no good mothership with a couple of digi a-bombs, land, head for the engine with a cool alien gps and blueprint scematics we found in our new saucer, fry the invaders along the way with jaw dropping alien or space tech weaponry the likes never seen in video game in history that do ungodly things, along with a sick sick story, I mean a story so good it's unforgettable, on the new next gen systems.

or our ps3's or 36o's...

yeah but zombies is just multiplayer, although in that case I guess aliens wouldn't really be a bad idea. But to incorporate that into the single player mode - not so much

That depends actually.

Mass effect kind of pulled it off really nicely imo, but that was more of an RPG game.

They already made that game. It was called "Blacksite: Area 51", and it sucked.

I'd like a Call of Duty: World War III, let us fight in the streets of modern London, New York, Washington, Moscow, Paris etc. The CoD engine and playstyle would be great, but the modern setting and new locations could be really cool, just let it run like Red Alert 2 for instance, where the game started with Russia invading the US, attacking NY and the Pentagon etc, just let us be the footsoldiers.

That would work too.

That would prove an interesting concept. (WWIII based idea)

As for aliens Vs Zombies, unless we got some seriously creative alien forces (unlike the ones now) I prefer to fight the undead.

i think if a futuristic shooter is to have a degree of originality then it should forget the aliens angle completely...the last one i thought done it well in terms of plot/weapons etc was perfect dark...2 different alien races...one allies and one enemy...both completely different in terms of technology

i'd prefer to see something along the lines of how the film "equilibrium" works...a sheltered and ordered world inside sealed cities against an outside world where people scrape a living off old technology

this would allow for a wide range of weapons from different eras as well as a strong basis for a civil war scenario

That would actually be a great idea. Hasn't that been done already though like pretty recently? I forget the name but I think Ubisoft just made something like that

Not really, it was a bad game set in a paralell timeline or something weird like that (that is, if you were talking about Turning Point).

You guys do know that the next Call of Duty is being modern again right?

yes...we know...

Well, I just recently finished COD 5 (PS3) on regular mode. All I can really say about the campaign mode is that it is very mediocre. The end mission with the Marines storming the castle was just boring. The end mission with the Russians was kinda cool, since you get to

Spoiler:
storm the Reichstag and plant the Russian flag atop the flag tower.
But even that left me with a sense of yearning for more. Keifer Sutherland and Gary Oldman may have lended their voices to the game, but even that couldn't save it. It's basically COD 4 again, same graphics/gameplay/tactics/etc. The only good thing about this game is the online. It's really fun, I have to admit. It's pretty sad, however, that I've noticed how some people have prestiged two or three times already. Sad. I'm just an E-6 and I still play regularly.

Nazi Zombie mode is kinda fun. I made to level 7. Very hard.

All in all, COD 5 was worth my money, but it's nowhere near the perfection of Modern Warfare.

Yeah, the re-spawning enemies is really beginning to compromise the appeal of this series. Although, i enjoyed Cod 5 more than 4 i became bored with 5 quicker than 4. I don't think that has anything to do with the quality of the game but rather because the franchise is doing very little to evolve. Being able to shoot through walls is a nice addition but where is the destructible environments, non linear stages and why oh why do we have to have re-spawning enemies on every stage of the game. Cod is one of the few games left that force you fight endless waves of enemies until you progress. The cinematic and production element is still first class and that is why i still continue to play these monotonous games. the COD games have always boasted some of the best voice acting ever in video games and although Kiefer may not be the best voice actor he still has a distinctive voice that feels natural for video games. I really hope that cat does some more games and i appreciate the enthusiasm he showed at the VGA. He was one of the few cats that thanked the players, ironically.

Yeah, I agree. The series hasn't evolved at all outside of MP, even though the basic gameplay in MP is exactly the same as previous games.

After playing Crysis with its destructible environments, and realistic environments (trees swaying with the breeze for example) COD4 graphics leaves something to be desired. Dont get me wrong, the graphics are still stellar but seeing trees fall down, branches being blown off, the static trees in COD just dont cut it. Especially with heavy fight sequences.

Cryteck Engine would make a awesome war game.
