Getting Accepted to College

college is for losers? sure, why not.

I really don't see how college can't be fun. Do you guys not get into sports, clubs, parties or any other form of social activity, if you don't then I could see not liking it.

collage was fu at LSU

Yeah, I was pleased to get in and I'm looking forward to going in September, already done all my further reading and that so I'll be able to get drunk a hell of a lot of the time.
My only problem with it is the cost of accommodation, as I'm going to university in London, it's going to set me back £113 a week, (that's around $220).

I think money really should be a much smaller role than it is. Student loans suck, but I think furthering your education and the experience will make it worth while,

You really think a loan will cover £113 a week? Of course not.

Not necessarily for losers.. but College is only good for credentials. You can, for example, major in A+ Computer repair for four years and still be a complete retard.

Intelligence isn't needed to get into, and complete, College.

I am still in High School and my opinion is unsupported and biased.

Obviously there are plenty of idiots who end up going to university, I know a few of them. But the fact of the matter is you're more likely to get a high paying job if you have a degree, even if you were a complete idiot and got like lower second class honours, or something.

Also, there are many industries where it's extremely hard to get work within them without a degree, I know it is for the industry I want to work in.

Theres always trade schools.

Student loans can help cover a lot, or you could get scholarships or heaven forbid a job.

I don't know why you think I'm complaining about this, I don't really mind that much. My parents will be paying half the cost and the other half will be funded by my student loan, I'll probably get a job in the second year. Usually there's help given to students studying in London, but my household income is too much to warrant it.

That's why I said College is only good for credentials. So you can flash that masters and people will actually think what you're saying means something.

Again, I'm not saying that peole who go to College are wasting there time or whatever.. but I just don't like how snobbish (This isn't aimed at anyone here.) some people are, just because they graduated from College. Doesn't mean you're smarter then everyone else.

Yeah, if you want to be a plumber, or an engineer etc. That's a good idea. Though if you want to be a lawyer, or a journalist etc. you're probably better going to an academically oriented university.

Your friends may not be the brightest, but there smart enough to know that by getting a college degree its gonna help them down the road. I'd say there pretty smart, anyone who doesn't get a degree is the real idiot. It's not like somebody who gets D's and C's is gonna go to college they need to have decent grades and a well rounded student.

I wouldn't say its just for credentials, its not like college is a walk in the park theres plenty of work. Like for me I want to be a broadcaster so my degree will be legit, but yes it can be credentials, but not JUST credentials.

There are plenty of universities that accept people with D's and C's. Speaking of smart, you should probably brush up on your grammar before you go to university.

But event if people have As and Bs dose not mean they can go to college if they do not have $ or our in a bad situation
