{edit} Why was Doctor banned? Especially when Strange wasn't. No one even really made a case against him, besides some erroneous assumptions from Stacks when I first drafted him.

I confirm my selection.

Evangel's making you repick for the Doctor.

Saw that. Edited my post at the bottom. I haven't seen one clear argument against him from anyone, so it's a bit of a shock. Mogo was debated for pages on end, so at least with something like that Smurph had ample opportunity to ponder the possibility of him gettign banned. I'd like to at least know why he's above Strange, or how he is above herald when he's stripped of the stuff that I can't afford to purchase. I'm not in the business of complaining for the sake of it, but I'd at least like to see the justification for it.

http://www.internationalhero.co.uk/d/doctor.htm

According to this link:

"The Doctor can do virtually anything if he puts his mind to it. He is capable of transforming living matter and teleporting people at a thought. On one occasion he even held Italy stationery while the rest of the Earth continued to move, causing it to vanish under the Mediterranean.

The latest Doctor is actually a great deal more powerful than Doctors past; he describes himself as the first Doctor and the last Doctor (apparently he has all the memories of Doctors past in addition to his own). No reason seems to have been given why he is so much more powerful than his predecessors. "

Its still pretty unclear about his level of power, and I am not familiar with him, so I have to assume to maximum for his power. IE Bending Reality to his whim. And Dr. Strange is not drafted as "classic". Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, I simply am trying to address all questionable choices.

EDIT:
I am using this as a benchmark for Herald level. If your character can beat, before succumbing to the rules of the tournament, without any preparation, in an impromptu battle, a full out Silver Surfer, Sentry, Superman, Thor, or Loki individually, then they are above Herald level.

Bending reality is banned, and costs about 20 pts. And I was never clear as to how "reality manip" is different than organic and/or inorganic matter manip (the former of which is also banned and too expensive, and the former of which we've discussed in PMs). The distinction seems nonexistent, and I'm not even sure what reality manip. means.

As for the rest, teleporting (so is NC'er banned?), telekinesis (the Italy feat)...how is holding Italy in place for a few seconds > planet busting?

Yeah, he's powerful. But he's a herald-type magic user that has most of his >> herald stuff blocked because of the purchases.

If he's banned, that's fine. I'll accept it willingly. But it's still a bit of a blindside since there was no discussion whatsoever on him, and as such I never really had a chance to defend him as a pick.

Well, here is your chance to defend him. If he basically just the Dr. Strange of the wildstorm universe, then keep him. However, it may hurt you to use him in the future since he is an obscure character, and I haven't seen any scans of him. It's really hard when a character isn't as well known.

EDIT: I am not picking on you, or anyone else. I am simply addressing all characters that I even received one complaint about in one fell swoop. Tournament matches at the very least won't start until the middle/late of the upcoming week so you have time to make a quick change.

Evangel, how can anyone buy reality warp? What characters in the Herald level class can reality warp? Honest question.

Christ. I have 2 minutes left on a library computer because mine ahs a virus and is in the shop. I can't until probably tomorrow. More reason why these things should be discussed before announced, but I ca defend him sometime soon (hopefully).

Then you get extra time to choose. Don't worry.

If he is basically just Dr. Strange/Dr. Fate/Loki/Baron Mordu of the wildstorm universe, then keep him. I only received one complaint about his link being ambiguous, so I'd rather just get clarification from you just to be clear. Links can sometimes be deceptive.

The Doctor isn't that obscure around here.

I hope I'm not being stepping on any toes but this might help some:
http://www.killermovies.com/forums/f98/t456443.html

The Doctor's main entry is about half way down the page.

Well based on those, links, he doesn't seem above Herald level. Thanks for the impute. 🙂

lol, Digimark why didn't you just post a link to the scans you posted of the Doctor?

If there is nothing else, and everything is settled, I'd like everyone to simply confirm their choices, and I will start creating a schedule.
