EVANGEL94's Final Slugfest Tournament: Draft 4 (Final Draft and Confirmation Thread)

Would this mean that Ult Richards can bring his cosmic cube to battle?

I don't know if it's such a good idea for prep to be handled that way because of your point system. Think about it, Reed Richards is what a 2 point character? In a "generic" lab where he can't access his uber devices the point cost of a half an hour allows him to do quite a bit but is still proportional to the total pt cost paid for him. On the other hand, stick Reed Richards in the Baxter Building for a half hour and suddenly he gets a major power jump because of all the things that are already on hand that he doesn't have to spend time building...

Same thing goes for guys like Batman, Dr. Doom, etc.

Hmm...you have a point there.

What if I limited it to a "recreation" or "copy" of their lab or sanctum, minus any uber devices that are normally there. If they want their uber devices, they must build it from scratch within prep.

Hush you, I approve of prep locale 100%. >_>

And normally stacked, as in no pre prepared items or specific one time devices at hand.

Well see I could go right along with it if we took out the pre-made devices, but Dr. Doom already HAS an army of Doombots at his disposal and without that clause there's nothing stopping him from bringing every freakin one of them to the battle ALONG with whatever new stuff he build during prep.

Aw crap. That's a good point.

I think that would probably work best truth be told. That way there's no question as to whether or not it's possible for them to build something they've already built(because they obviously have the equipment) but it keeps them from having instant access 30 years of specialized prepped equipment that's already laying around their lab.

IMO, that's the price you pay for drafting prep guys. I have no problem with full prep abilities. That's what prep means.

But the point cost doesn't reflect that because the point cost was set for a "generic" lab. If we allow pre-made devices then the point cost for lab prep should go up significantly to balance out what you're getting for the cost.

Announcement

I am limiting prep-zones to a "recreation" or "copy" of their lab or sanctum, minus any uber devices that are normally there. If they want their uber devices, they must build it from scratch within their prep-time.

Also, adding this rule to prep:

You get the prep-zone only one time up to 36 hours (if you choose to buy that level of prep) before the battle starts. Once you leave the prep zone, back to the battlefield, you cannot return to the prep-zone. No going back and forth between the battlefield and prep-zone over and over again.

There should just be a cap put on the tech.

I'll agree to paying a few extra points for more prep options. Hell, I'd drop a few of my purchases to get that.

I think we should be given a certain lab, preexisting within the MU, as our prep.

Like the Baxter Building or something, but probably less uber.

Hell nah. if you draft an uber prep guy, they should get their uber prep area. 👇

Yes well you still have points to spare so I can see how you'd feel that way, but for everybody else it would mean revamping their whole damn strategy to adjust for the added cost. We'd have to all but start the drafting over and I'm pretty sure everyone would rather just move forward.

And the uber tech of Reed, Doom, and Metron wouldn't be an increase of a couple of points, that'd be like a 10 pt purchase...

Just put a cap on the tech.

Nothing above Iron-Man's armor.

LOL, 😆

I like what you said before I refreshed the page. It sounded more honest 😉

I decided it'd be better to avoid starting another major argument for you to have to deal with...

The cap on technology is what your character can conceivably build, from scratch, depending on the level of prep you buy, and the intelligence of your character. It is up to you to convince the voters if you are capable of doing it within that period of time.

Well it looks like the schedule will be posted tomorrow instead of today, and matches will be pushed back on day. I believe one person still needs to draft. I am sure they will be able to figure out something by tomorrow.

Just what counts as an uber device?

Anything that can considerably amps the characters power beyond the norm. If you want something like that, you have to start from scratch.
