I'm all for adapting when it comes to converting paper media on to the big screen. This is not an adaption though, going by that trailer the only thing dragonball about this film are the names of the characters.
The trailer is / was real, youtube link now says "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Twentieth Century Fox "
I AM NOT DONE YET noooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. im not allways like this NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. i like to be onpen minded sometimes but this is to ... it to JUST noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
SO, yeah...here's a test trailor I found....I don't think this is it.

Looks rather lame...
I seriously envisioned something else on this film. I don't mind the casting for Goku...he's okay and should do alright....probably better for the part than some. I don't mind what they've done with Piccolo...he doesn't look that bad.
However, the effects....
Maybe they aren't done, yet. I could have done much better with this film, and I'm an amature... Maybe they should have considered brining in a DBZ as a "vision" consultant to help bring this to llfe better.
Originally posted by Yoshi ParadiseFor one, they tried to cram as many characters as they could from the movie, which was annoying since it was pointless as it essentially bastardized the characters, they turned them into no-names.
Besides Johnny Cage's death after 10 minutes of screen-time, would someone mind telling me why the second Mortal Kombat movie was bad?I thought it was a decent movie.
Baraka and Mileena are two good examples.
It made Shao Kahn and Raiden brothers, with Shinnok being the father, which was just stupid.
The plot was honestly just not good.
The character designs bothered me the most, Shao Kahn's in particular. He beared nearly no resemblance to his true self, even while wearing the full armor and helmet.
The fight scenes I admit though were not bad, nor was Kang's portrayal IMO.
