Why would God make his son illiterate? 😕 Seems a bit counter productive if he is trying to spread the word of God, how could he proof read what the scribes were witting about him and God to make sure the words and meanings were correct?

Correction: Why would God make himself illiterate?

Because as you well know, according to Christian mythology, Jesus and God are one and the same.

not all wines... Christ introduced a good wine, and it's not alcoholic...
PJ, you need to prove that since it was Paul that told the followers not to be drunk when he got there. He didn't say DON'T DRINK.

Paul told Timothy to "use" wine. Paul told him to use a "little wine,"

I guess we should damn the Pilgrims to hell since even the children did drink with meals. Christians, if its okay to drink wine, why not smoke?

Man that is a debate that I remember going back and forth. The part that cracks me up is when they say the wine was non-alcoholic. That wouldn’t be wine but grape juice.

Well, we can make non-alcoholic wine these days, but it tastes like shit.

They think that somehow Jesus made wine, but then got rid of the alcohol. 😆

If wine doesn't contain alcohol, then it wouldn't be wine (as noted), so Jesus/apostles wouldn't have called it wine.

I also doubt the technology existed 2k years ago to ferment grapes and then separate the alcohol from the product.

Well, he could have used his God-powers, is that mentioned in the Bible as one of Christ feats?

I'm sure they all smoked too. Hmmmm

Would explain a LOT! 😱

He could even decaffeinate coffee.

That pleases the Mormons.

😂

What kind of god are they serving? 😕

Drunkeness is a sin, but drinking alcohol certainly isn't. One can drink alcohol in moderation and not become drunk, i.e. not sin.

I'd really like to know were these asshat-Christians get that drinking alcohol is a sin? Maybe they're reading the Qur'an and confusing the two.

Wait, I thought it was what you did when you get drunk that was a sin, but just getting drunk is not a sin.

Yes, yes.......that was the message.

I have seen passages where it says not to drink wine or other strong drinks and others say not to get drunk, another great contradiction in the Bible. 😖

PBT tests were not in enforcement at that time.............hmm

I believe the message was to be clear of mind, or quick thinking...and certain things dull the senses....

In those days water could have killed you.

Go to a 3rd-world country, water can kill you now. Hell, go to Los Angeles.

Ya, I was going to say that, but I have to leave something for you. 😂

As was in the 14th before it and after it....wine/beer was better than water........Sin to all of those!

And if mind altering then weed and antidepressants too...heck, all over and under the counter drugs too.............

I don't think you're reading the Scriptures in context.

The universal prohibition is against drunkenness and addiction [Proverbs 20:1; Ephesians 5:18]. Prohibitions against all alcohol consumption are limited to highly specific groups; for example, the Nazarites were forbidden to drink alcohol [Numbers 6:3], and Israel's kings were cautioned against the damaging impact alcohol can have on a leader's judgment [Proverbs 31:4-5]. Interestingly, in the very next verse, we are told that alcohol has useful medicinal properties [Proverbs 31:6-7], so clearly it is not liquid sin.
