In one of their fights in Namor's series, their dialogue points to Namor being stronger. Namor stated that he was superior underwater while they are equal on land, Hercules goes on to say fine and then he states "Let the ground come up to meet you" or something along those lines.

Yea, Hercules would tool Namor on land. But in the depths it goes to Namor but not because he's stronger but because of his mobility in the water.
If by tool you mean Hercules would some how beat the shit out of him on land that is far from the case.
They've had four fights I believe. In their first fight Hercules seems to have the slight edge on land while Namor has the edge underwater in terms of strength. Although it was stated that at full capacity both are dead even in terms of strength. In their second fight they stalemate on land as I recall. In their third fight it happens underwater and Namor is portrayed as the physically stronger of the two. In their most recent fight I believe they were going toe to toe.
Hercules would have the slight edge in terms of strength on land based on their fights but I'd give Namor the win as with his speed and flight he has shown that he can use it as an advantage against Hercules even on land. Underwater I give Namor the win but by an even greater margin. His not only even more maneuverable his also slightly stronger.
namor has stalemates against herc on dry land
anyway....scans:
Instance One.....doesn't seem to be much of a dispute about who's stronger underwater
Namor: "on land, you and i are evenly matched, son of zeus, but you are in my element now--so cease your struggles you arrogant clod" (lol)
Herc responds: "the lion of olympus yields to no man. If thou art truly the strongest in the sea, then i shall bring the ground up to meet thee"

Instance Two........namor claims no one can match his strength underwater........herc doesn't object, but namora does.lol

Instance 3........I find this one extremely odd because herc says he's beaten namor......and namor agrees, but it's never happened one time in comics......anywho.....namor says he can't be matched in the water, again.......herc doesn't object, again........and namora does, again lol

^When? The closest is that beam incident and I recall it being vague. Other than that all of their fights point to Hercules being inferior to water against Namor.

Doubt it. Namor would beat the utter shit of Mortal Hercules even on land.
Originally posted by snoopdogg........and you don't think namor manhandling him underwater in the 1st set of scans means anything? not only that, but while he's manhandling him he speaks of how he's stronger......then herc responds, but doesn't oppose his statement.....in fact he's more or less conceding to it. then there's the fact that he couldn't break his hold without using the environment to his advantage........that all points to namor being stronger if you ask me.
Those are all fine and dandy. But that's just hyperbole as Hercules has already proven to be stronger than Namor in the depths.
it seems like each time namor expresses his superiority underwater, herc has nothing to say.........and namor and herc are pretty much the same attitude wise.......i doubt either would let a statement of superiority against them slide if it were untrue
Originally posted by Rage.Of.OlympusYea, it was in Avengers #260 or there abouts. Namor is embarrased that Hercules is able to move against it but he's held helpless. This was a few issues after they "stalemated" on land.

Do some research on the 3rd fight. Hercules was mortal in that issue when he tangled with Namor in the depths.

Do you have the scans? I can't check on this computer and I really don't care enough to log on to my other one.
Really?
I thought the third fight which was in Namor #58 was before Avengers #384. The issue Hercules was depowered in was in March 1995 I believe and the issue they fought in Namor's series was like in February 1995.

No, I don't have scans. As far as being mortal or not I guess I'm not sure. I thought it was 1994.
Iight.
I'm pretty sure the issue he was depowered in was March 1995, while their fight in Namor's series took place in January/February 1995. Again I could double check to be completely sure but then I'd have to log in to my other computer and I just don't care enough.

Namor has absorbed stuff like that though... heh?You believe because they are both lightning? For reference, Thor KO'ed Hulk with lightning...
BTW, Surfer was cheapshotted by Storm when he was trying to heal Wonder Man (who he almost killed), and all it did was cause him pain for some reason and then he promptly grabbed her hand. Not that I don't believe she has done this, but I don't believe you as a whole, so scans?
I believe that was the one. But my point is that if Storm's lightning can harm SS it definitely can harm Namor (cheapshot or not). Repeated strikes while Storm stays away may come out a winner.
