Then you should have seen match vs. Leo last tourney, in the finals.

I used one sketchy scan to turn Firestorm and Meggan into Solar, Man of the Atom. haermm

How did that turn out again?

😛

And yeah, there's some parallels with KVD. Always wondered why she didn't do better either. She competed in the pre-scans era, so it was a different ballgame entirely

Yeah ... I think I put her out of at least one of those tourneys.

With how many tournaments you both entered back then, it's pretty much a certainty that you faced her at least once.

I never faced long pig. Or leo. I'll get to scratch one of those itches in this tourney. LP's the only other person I regret never being able to debate against. He was hilarious, and always sounded right even when he was abysmally wrong. Dr. Shocktopus is still one of my favorite amalgam/team names ever (in a close race with Flash Thordon).

I actually heavily considered one of his old gems from the "enhanced street" tourney (essentially low meta) that I ran. Speedfreek. But he's got less than 10 issues to his name. Blinding speed and reactions, as much so as most meta-level speedsters, titanium armor and an adamantium blade. Wolverine minus the healing factor, but slightly more durable and lots faster. Woulda been a nice 20 point-er.

And since he's presumed dead, I doubt we'll ever see him again. He's doomed to about 6 issues forever.

I really like how LP has a sort of negative hype effect... the more confident he is of victory, the less likely he is to win.

He thought he could beat Scoobless, but he lost after a close battle.

He really thought that he could easily beat BW and insulted him pretty much the whole match, but he lost.

He (and everyone else) thought that he'd absolutely stomp Joey Stacks, but he lost miserably.

Well, maybe another tourney can give you a chanse- for example, Red\NJ one has a character with 6 issues (Savitar) in the winning team.

Heh ... I gave my brother all my Civil War comics to read, he normally doesn't read any but as I do and one of his mates does we must have told him enough about the whole superhero divide thing to get him interested. When he read the prologue part where the New Warriors were filming in Stamford he thought it was hilarious when one of the news guys was reading out the list of bad guys in the house:

"Coldheart fought Spider-Man a couple of times and -- get this -- Speedfreek almost took down the Hulk"

Night Thrasher:*scared look on his face-mask* "He WHAT?"

😂

Not a clue how Stacks beat him. LP was overconfident, but wasn't dumb. Joey has very little going for him in tourneys.

Me as well. Though I had the added benefit of taking down Khell too 😈

Meh. Did it twice. Felt good about it both time 🙂

Whatever, when you get a win over JP, let me know.

😈

Does getting a win over you count? Or make that two....we are 2-1 in my favor right?

I'm the Scooby Killer 😈

Meh, one of those was a partner tourney ... at best it only counts as half a win (but really it doesn't count at all)

🙂

IMO in that match LP fell victim of having overcomplicated amalgam (Dragonman+Zero=wtf?) and having little to no scans to back up his claims.
Not that Stacks' plan was superb...he looked like a pussy against Scoobs.

Seriously, Stacks deserves a prize for coming up with something so... badly played out. There's really a simple way to put a Kitty Pryde-type phaser in the world of hurt with A-class fighting skills (knowing a thing or two about using chi)+manipulation of raw psionic energy...but since Bigfoot's power output increased as he grew, it would really do no visible damage unless he were to initiate disruption of Bigfoot's molecular structure in some strategically chosen point...
Stacks acted out like a pussy and hyped up Invincible when striking force was the last thing he needed here. And since Moonstone's phasing is gravity-based,energy disruption won't be much help either. TP assault- arguable but...possible when given time and a minute to meditate- which is impossible on the battlefield which can be blown up in the second.

Plus he hadn't seen Star Wars .... 😘

Is Blair counting when we beat them in the first match of Delph's tourney?

His bragging about striking force is what made me think his strategy was retarded- but what do you expect from Hulk's fanboy? I have already said how I'd have used KK's experience+Psylocke's powerset against a phaser, and physical strength is the last thing to resort there...might as well be hitting the air. Having the best chi-user west to Hong Kong in a team and simply hitting stuff...lulz.

Interesting point ... I had forgotten about the failed "Jubilee O' Doom" plan ... 😂

I'm counting championship wins 🙂

Though, Id accredit that to you.

Also, Jubiliee of Doom...wasnt my idea. Though the simple fact that both her and Synch could still blow things up at the subatomic level (without any of the complicated math that you all argued about) was nothing any of you had defenses for. I'm not sure how that very simple concept did not translate to everyone else.
