In fact, it's "as for now"- since everything is going to change, I see "opponent-specific" teams being assembled\resaaembled as the tourney progresses.
Also funny thing- me and Krissy Von Doom (now retired) were the only female participants in KMC tourney ever (though there's also Evangel, but she's more noted as tourney host and I don't remember her actually competing).
Evangel competed in her last tourney a couple times for fun.

And there's also Fangirl. If you believe that. ermm

So it's three confirmed and one... claiming to be female, yet using exactly the same lines as our banned friend Nvr.

Speaking of Ill's last tourney... hope you remember that lady:

Charlotte's always been great for pre and mid tourney talk.

I'm not being condescending- I remember in Delph's tourney, I kept PMing her to talk about opponents strats.

I'll second this. I remember discussing her plans before Red/Newjak's tourney. It was surprisingly sophisticated (though, it seems, it didn't translate into a ton of success). Also once or twice for this tourney concerning others' strategies.

And yeah, there's some parallels with KVD. Always wondered why she didn't do better either. She competed in the pre-scans era, so it was a different ballgame entirely, but she was never an easy out. But I wouldn't include Evangel....she competed, but it wasn't a part of the actual tourney. It was just for fun. So 2-3, depending on your thoughts concerning fangirl

At least the winner was from our bracket🙂))

Lol. Something along the lines of "Flaming ***** of doom", correct?

I remember.

Simple. B*tch of Fire.. rather ridiculous (as seen now) wordplay on K's second nickname\codename- Beast of Prey, his pyrokinesis and Jakita's b*tchy personality (look how she treated Batman in crossover). It was K'+Kenshiro+Jakita... though in full glory that amalgam only worked against B-Dub's team...

Manga, while difficult to pin down, has obvious benefits if you know it.

I can't think of any other low metas off the top of my head that can do what Kira could, for instance.

To tell you the truth, Kira was a cheat. He's a shinigami with leutenant rank and has undergone training in sorcery (kudo or what it's called, I'm not a Bleach fan)...and stuff like that was banned from the tourney. Since the knowledge of sorcery training was never made public..
Though that tourney was centered around "getting as much possible loopholes as possible".

That's ok. I used the X-Mansion as Madrox's prep site even though he's never been a member of that team. haermm

I remember arguing that. Also I remember how you claimed "blowing up the skyscraper from the distance=\=detonating the air in the lungs of skyscraper sized person", and then Darkcrawler plagiarized the tactic for their mythical "uber-Jubilee" (despite unlike K' she has never done anything close to that).
In that play, though, there were attempts to simulate banned powers with tech like you using Staff of One or we planning on grabbing the mindwiping "gun" from Kira's equipment in Soul Society.

If by benefits you mean "you can sneak people under caps that should be illegal" then yes, I'd fully agree.

Pft! Were we the only ones playing by the rules?!

*erases everyone's memory of Gideon from a low meta tourney*

My team grabbed the giant mech in the first battlefield, and we grabbed the Destroyer Armor at the Halls of Asgard... and I gave the idea to Blair, which he then used against Digi.

Lolz.

My fave tactic was getting some really, really fast amalgams and turning them into suicide bombers.

In fact your and our team tied for the fastest in that tourney... and Asgardian Destroyer was a bit of a suicide of a victory- that's why we never tried that despite having actual ghost in our ranks.
But as I've said- our team gloriously marched to its doom at Silient Hill battlefield...

lol... Obviously mixed genre carries the benefit of nobody else knowing shit about your character.

We're a comic forum, after all, so we can only trust everybody to have some knowledge of comics.

I'm already prepping BS mixed genre characters for Delph's next season. crackers

And yeah, Gideon was some bullshit.

Some? I've never seen so much BS extracted from exactly ONE scan...with no other showings of doing anything remotely like that. And I still think that I did shitty job at drafting Kenshiro- since I underused him and Prometheus should have been much better choise.

Then you should have seen match vs. Leo last tourney, in the finals.

I used one sketchy scan to turn Firestorm and Meggan into Solar, Man of the Atom. haermm

While, I tried anyways. And I still say that if Jamie had made the battlefield clearer, I would have pwned Leo... I was well on my way.

furious

Just kidding, Leo.

Leo used on-panel hype as well. Some narranive poetics just for "beautiful word" were turned into full blown cause for his Emperor Speed being able to travel faster than instant movement.

I liked how we had Gideon copying GL rings. We also used the Battletech locale better than anyone, Smurph included, though you also did a good job with it. I have a friend who knows Battletech like we know comics, so it made things easy. And we had Thor fighting on our team in Asgard. But that was all some epic BS. I'm all for removing prep entirely for this current one. 10 minutes isn't much, but it's still enough for epic idiocy. I'm just content that even my "big" plans don't really strain credulity time-wise. So I can play the debunker without receiving much of the same.

Well, I have some "PBS"(you can tell from my roster), but that would be one well-documented kind of BS...though it costed me some time and money to collect the scans- had to read stuff I've never thought I would even touch before the tourney.
