Karkarvos shakes his head and motions to David and Denzral.
"Extinguish your blades," Karkarvos says, shaking a hand at them. "We do not want to attract the attention of... other threats that lurk in these forests. It is an unnecessary danger. And should a terentatek notice us... well, we three may not be able to bring it down ourselves."
Karkarvos instead draws his pistol.
"Use other methods of defense until you have to resort to your lightsaber."
"Now, Denzral," Karkarvos says. "You sensed Coryn, yes? You will have to guide us to the last location that you felt his presence. I will keep my senses focused on our surroundings..."
Karkarvos extends his mind into the forest, sensing the dozens of living beings watching them from the trees, from the ground, below the ground... and he keeps his pistol trained towards them.
Karkarvos nods in approval of David's reporting to the Council. "At least someone is. I do not have strong relations to the Council, but they must be informed at all times or our Order will collapse..."
Clutching his gun, Karkarvos follows Denzral at a steady pace, ready to blast anything that strikes.
Coryn felt it. They Jedi were close now... Would they see him immediately? Either way, the Tarentatek would be their first encounter.
But wait... There weren't a lot of Jedi... Just a few. Why were they silly enough to go out into the Shadowlands with that many? Of course, Coryn is out here alone, but he is intuitive.
The Tarentatek let out a large snort, and growled deeply. It sensed the Jedi too, but not only that, it sensed Coryn. It lept up from it's 'nest', and started charging toward the Selkath, roaring greatly. In an instant, Coryn was soaring through the air, his Stealth Generator deactivated by the great burst of movement. Coryn landed nimbly on a tree branch about fifty yards up the tree, and activated the Stealth field again. The Tarentatek, enraged the his prey eluded him so easily, started to head butt the trunk of the tree, but found it useless and placed itself in a nice stalking position, ready to pounce should Coryn find himself idiotic enough to come down.
Well, this is wonderful... Now I have the upper hand, I suppose?
Coryn chuckled, but silenced himself when he felt that the other Jedi had heard the disruption.
Well, this is going to be fun...
(What does the Tarentatek look like?)
Denzral paused. "The Dark side energy is making it harder to sense what lies ahead. Karkarvos..." Denzral heard the roar of the Tarentatek. "I have a bad feeling about this. Take point." Denzral took out his advanced blaster pistol and opened his mind to their surroundings.
Teretateks are great hunched beasts with long forearms with sharp claws and wide toothy grins.

Karkarvos hears the disruption up ahead and stops the Jedi. He recognizes the blood-curdling roar at once, accompanied by sounds of stomping and thrashing.
"Terentatek," Karkarvos alerts the other Jedi. "If Coryn was here, he may be here no longer, but victim to the beast. It was foolish of him to run off..."
Karkarvos extends his senses into the clearing, sensing the enraged mind of the terentatek. He pulls back, preventing the terentatek from sensing him as well.
"We need reinforcements," Karkarvos tells the others. "We three are no match for this beast."
Tsk, tsk, tsk. Going around won't help, imbecile.
Coryn sat perched on the tree branch still, but he could now see the three Jedi, and was reaching out his mind just enough to hear the conversation. Coryn recognized Karkovos, and David from earlier, but the other he didn't know by name, just by looks.
That's when an idea struck Coryn. Reaching out his mind to connect with the three Jedi, he put on a helpless, breathless voice, and communicated with them.
"Help! I'm in a tree above the Tarentatek! I need help, please!"
Coryn laughed at his own performance, and found it would work quite nicely.
"Wait," Karkarvos says, listening carefully. He kept his blaster trained in the direction of the clearing, but did not dare venture closer. He reached out with his mind, trying to obtain a clearer image of the area ahead of him.
"Remain quiet and calm," Karkarvos says, under his breath so that only David and Denzral can hear him. "I sense something... not quite right with this."
Standing tall and straight, Karkarvos reaches out with his mind to touch Coryn's, the Selkath having opened his mind to him. He attempts telepathic communication, something Karkarvos had tried to hone during the Mandalorian Wars to communicate with his fellow Jedi in the heat of combat.
"Are you hurt badly?"
