Benjii walked back into the room to see nobody in there. "god damit! where the Hell did they go? i'll kill that bastard when i get the chance. i should have done it a couple of seconds ago! ****!!!" he punched the wall, smashing the heart monitors and other machines in the process

Steph hesitated, but slowly followed after taking one last glance around. "Lich... Can I please see my child while I'm here?" She followed close behind him, trying to get a look at the book. Standing beside him was a bit nerve racking. He was much different then the vampire she had seen in the hospital.

Lich didn't look back, but answered in almost a whisper, "No." He sharply turned a corner and arrived in to a door that was gargantuan in size. It had multiple locks, and gears, bars and chains that kept this room shut down. It contained multiple dents and scratches that had been welded shut. As Lich approached the door, he reassured Steph whom he could imagine was shocked by the appearance, "rest assured, the owner of this castle was a demented man. He used this room for much of his experiments. The beasts that made these marks are no longer around, but" he smiled finally facing Steph, "something greater remained." He looked back at the door and extended his hand till his finger tips barely touched the surface. "Open" commanded a voice that was both deep and authoritative unlike the voice that spoke to Steph earlier. Slowly a screeching noise of bolts moving, the whirring of gears rotating, the moaning of bars sliding and the clinking of chains falling down, echoed throughout the hallway. Finally when all was quiet after a few minutes, a large bang signaled the opening of the door. The hulking frame gave way as finally the two steel panels opened wide to a dark room. "We're here," as Lich proceeded to disappear into the darkness.

he glanced up at him as she watched the gnarled door slowly open itself. She wondered what was left in there... Could it make marks like that on the door? Dear god he was going to feed her to a monster! She sighed heavily, calming herself down, before slowly following him into the room.

With every step taken, lights flipped on, and with each light lit a stasis chamber was revealed. The green reflection became augmented with each light that flipped open to reveal a long row of dormant looking demons. Each one looked as the one before; wings wrapping around the body entirely, heads tilted down with large bent horns resting upon the glass. Bubbles occasionally broke the stillness of the water as each of the creatures took a small breath. Eight chambers lined the walkway before Lich stopped an elevated passage. Though lich stopped, the lights did not. The lamps pressed forward, each one revealing steps up a very large throne. When after a few seconds one great light shone at the top where a young lone figure sat slumped in the chair. He swayed drunkenly to his feet and pointed a finger down at Lich, "Lich *hic* I was wondering when you'd come visit me. *hic*" He walked down the steps, almost tripping a few times, but maintaining his balance ad never falling. He reached the last step and slumped into Lich embracing haphazardly. He tilted his head around Lich's towering body, he smiled a very jubilant smile, "and who's this pretty lady?"

He made his way around Lich, the source of his drunkenness found in his tagless bottle of vodka. He stopped when in front of Steph and passed a hand across the side of her face brushing some hair aside, "do you have a name pretty lady?"

Steph kinda glanced up at Lich as the man made his way down the stairs. The look one her face said 'Oh you've got to be kidding me.' She sighed and took a step back as he fell into Lich's arms. She'd seen drunk before. Hell she's engaged to an alcoholic. But when he reached out and touched her, that wasnt even funny. Her eyes widened and she grabbed the arm he had reached out with, spun him around, put her foot on his ass, and pushed him back towards the stairs. It was a gentle push, she had to fight Benjii off of her plenty of times to know how to handle the drunken. It was only hard enough to get him a good three or four steps away from her. "My name is Stephanie Aleksoki." She rubbed her cheek in disgust where he had touched her.

jason stopped in the lobby, looking out of the front windows and spotting several swat vans. "ooooooooh shiiiiiii*!" he turned and ran back to the room, almost stumbling over benjii. "lich, i'm gonna need some hel-" he suddenly realised that the only ones in the room were benjii, him, and the 3 swat officers.

Tammi casually walked in. "Steph I'm gonna need a-" She dropped her clipboard when she realized that steph wasnt there. "Jason.. What happened?"

jason turned in surprise, "i'm confused too!"

The man tumbled from her kick, but at the last moment stepped onto the stairs and somersaulted backwards in a graceful spiral till he landed behind Steph with a dagger drawn to her neck. "So Ms. Aleksokim what brings you to my humble abode?" The stench of vodka was still fresh on his breath. Lich turned unamused and faced the man. "That is enough." The man withdrew his blade from her neck and walked composed back to Lich's side standing now erect as if he were a sober man. No longer did his character denote any influence by alcohol. His dagger went back into his coat and he waited for Lich to further explain.

"She is infected by the same material I found in the little child. This is not my area of expertise, especially with a case as far along as she has. I have brought you the book..." but he was cut short by the man's raised hand as he began his ascent back to his throne.

"No Lich, you can't keep bringing these people for me to cure. Just because you carry your heart on a sleeve..."

"This is the mother of the child." The man stopped and gazed back at Lich in mild disbelief.

"Her?" he asked pointing a finger at Steph without breaking his gaze from Lich. Lich nodded solemnly, and the man finally faced Steph with a look of mild amusement, "and you have the book?" Lich nodded, pulling the book from underneath his robe. Although the man carried a smile is disappeared when he looked back at the book. It carried upon it's cover fangs and horns in faded red that didn't help the already deteriorating book. "Fine," his hand reaching for the book, "but I better not get slapped for this." Lich smiled and handed him the book.

After the man took the book, he stood there flipping through the book. Lich meanwhile approached Steph and smiled. "It will for the most part be painful, but your chances of survival are much greater then of mine. However..." this was a part of great hesitation. Enough of a detail that made him consider his first decision. "Part of the process requires a disconnection that makes room for an illusion. The illusion confuses the host's body and the presence so that the presence will not feel threatened. That way we can remove it quickly and painlessly. But no human body is meant to be disconnected from the body and the mind for too long. Prolonged exposure to this state can inhibit certain parts to the reconnection." He looked at her that she may understand this next part clearly, "I have great confidence in him, and there is no other vampire that can perform it as skillfully as he. But the first thing to suffer from the connection is memory. The host will experience a loss of short term memory first within 6 hours of disconnection with the short memory extending to approximately 48 hours prior to the ritual. After 12 hours years start to be lost, and then the effects are stacked from physical impediments." But he laid a large bony hand upon her shoulder. "But you needn't worry. Most of the memory you will lose will be ones you didn't want to have anyways," he said making a reference to Benjii's inability to control his emotions. "I will be with you, every step of the way."

The man shouted a cry of triumph as he found the page he was looking for, "I found it!" He moved standing between Lich and Steph, "shall we begin?" Lich looked towards Steph, "Shall we?"

Steph put her hand on his and forced a smile. "If you trust him, then I trust him too." She looked up at him happily, forcing back tears after he had finished speaking. "Yes... I'm ready.. I'm terribly frightened, but I want to see my little girl." She looked at the man and gave him a nod. Quietly she laid her hands in her lap and looked up at Lich, waiting for something to happen.

Benjii grabbed Jason by the neck and held him in the air "where did they go? call him! that bastard took my wife and for all i know is that she could be dead. now call him!" realising that Jason couldn't breathe he let him drop and closed the door, trapping Jason and Tammy in the room with him "now nobody is leaving until i get Steph back."

Lich nodded in a approval and placed both hands on Steph shoulders Looking up he slowly lifted his hands and beginning to whisper in audible words. As his hands rose so did Steph until her feet could no longer touch the ground. He bent to the side and Steph rotated horizontally. She rose up till she was at Lich's waist, which was the upper abdomen for the man. The man had made the book float near Steph's feet where it was set to a page with a strange looking dagger in between the page. Lich positioned himself till he was standing behind Steph's head. His hands were poised beside her ears until he placed his hand against it completely. The man looked at Lich and the both nodded. Lich looked down and tried his best to smile, but a skull smiling was never voted the most appealing sight.

"I ain't going to lie sugar," said the man spitting into his palms and rubbing them together. He grabbed the dagger and readied himself to stab, "this is gonna hurt." But before any protests were made, the dagger had been planted, a blinding white light appeared, and Steph awoke to find herself in a field of grass and flowers where the apparition of Lich as a young man was lying on his back.

With a scream steph sat up, her hands running over her stomach and body... Wait.. Wasnt she just-?.. Where's that drunken man? She sighed heavily and ran a hand over her face, trying hard to calm herself down. She turned and looked down at the young man laying in the grass beside her. She frowned and looked down at him. "Lich?"

"Lich?"

He moved his head lazily from rest and tilted it towards her. The glare of the sun caused him to close his right eye, and the weed (like the unwanted grass, not the drug 😛) that hung from his mouth scrapped against the ground. "I don't know who this Lich man is, but I am Leinhart," his head resting back looking up, "once future king of the mighty vampire kingdom." His legs were folded with his right one crossing over the left. His arms were both interwoven behind his head, and his eyes were closed giving him an air of true peace and solemnity.

The scene before Steph was an afternoon summer day. Rolling fields of of both grass and farm lands alike graced the natural rivers, lakes and trees along their path to infinity. Leinhart was resting upon a side of a hill that looked out towards a crooked lake, that disappeared behind a hill with a lone tree upon it. "You might as well make yourself comfortable, you're going to be here a while." He smiled tilting his head back to her with his right eye shut again.

"Oh god it's beautiful." She smiled and looked out over the land. She only saw this before her death, when her and Benjii had only just met decades ago. She frowned and looked away from the scene before her. "What? What do you mean?"

He sat straight up and looked out onto the clearing. The smile still painted upon his face. "I don't know what this place is called, but it never changes unless you leave specific regions." He stood now, swaying a bit and pausing. "Towards the those hills and lakes, it is constantly raining. The deeper you go, the harder it pours. I got to the point I couldn't even see my hand before me and so I turned around and came back." He then turned ninety degrees to his right, over there it becomes autumn which denotes the reddish tint. With each changing element different times of day occur." He turned another ninety degrees looking now over the hill he once rested on, "I wouldn't recommend going over there. It's the hours of night. The deeper you go, the darker it becomes."

He proceeded to stand on top of the hill with a single knee bent and the other extended. He bent his back a bit and rested his elbows upon his knees. "It is strange here because each region eventually overlaps with another so the elements given are a different result then before." He stopped at turned to look at Steph puzzled at her appearance. He wore some baggy pants and a button down shirt with all of the buttons unbuttoned. It revealed an evenly tanned chest and abdomen that was very toned. His hair was long and tied in the back, and his face seemed well trimmed for having the beard that he had. He had striking blue eyes, but brown hair. The resemblances were there to the older Lich that Steph could notice, but it was most obvious he was a younger version.

"I'm sorry," he said "I didn't quite catch your name."

She looked deeply into his eyes, wondering if he knew what he was to become. "Call me Steph... Lich, I mean Leinhart, do you know why I am here?.. Where in gods name am I?" Ran ran a hand through her hair and stood, looking off over the mountain. She put a hand to her stomach and winced. Seeing that gave her a sinking feeling. She wanted to know so badly what was really happening, what Lich and the drunken vampire were doing.

He raised an eye in suspicion, "this is a place they put all those who do not deserve death." He pulled aside his shirt to reveal his whole chest. In black markings branded upon his skin was a symbol that seemed eerie in appearance. "The mind divider. It's where they send criminals who commit so heinous a crime, that death is more a reward then punishment. So they rip away the mind and body, each to live forever in two different planes of existence." He stepped down from the hill, his shirt swaying in his motion breeze, "is your mark here?" touching the same place she laid her hand. His blue eyes continued to pierce her gaze filling her with an absolute warmth and goodness.

[I just want to say, most of my characters (except for the drunk dude) would be more for kicks and giggles then anything meaningful. Plus, later on as you spend a little more time in here, you'll realize why Leinhart is acting this way. 😛 So bear with me...]

lol ok))

She shook her head and sat down on the hill. "No... No there is something wrong with me... There is something demonic and evil inside of me.. And it tried to take my child as well..." She gulped and fought back tears. "I havent even been able to hold her yet.. All because of this thing." She shook her head and covered her eyes with her hand. "Lich must have failed then.. I must be dead."

(last post)

Leinhart wrapped an arm around her shoulder, "I'm sure this Lich will somehow pull through. You don't seem to carry the mark upon you. So that must mean it's a temporary stay. I recall once long ago a ritual. That required the disunity of the mind and body by the means of a channeler and a dagger. The body dies but the mind remains active. The channeler then focuses his ability in maintaining the body 'alive' and healthy until the ritual is complete." The hand that hung around her shoulder rubbed her arm sympathetically, "although I haven't seen your world for ages. And time doesn't exist here," he mentioned pointing to the sun that hadn't moved since her arrival, "the same day, the hour, the same sun, for all eternity." And as terrible as this fate sounded, he didn't seem at all remorseful or sad. Anything but filled his voice filling her with reassurance. And as that reassurance filled her, Steph slowly felt a hand pressed at her mind relaxingly as a most recent memory was forgotten without notice.

[😛 eventually you'll lose your will to leave this place and you'll be so happy here like him, you wouldn't want to leave anyway. Not even for the love of your child. So get comfortable and hope that Lich pulls through...haermm]
