Cyclops win this. Batman would be ill-advised to be in the forward hemisphere of Cyclops, since a single wide-area concussive blast would literally devastate everything within a (say) 145 degree angle forward.
Now, are there ways that Batman can beat Cyclops? The answer is yes, and they are MANY.
However, in a battle-field environment where they are facing each other, Batman should lose every single time.
It would be like having a match whereby Superman and Captain America have their hands around each other's throats, and the game is to see who will snap the others' neck first. Needless to say, Steve dies the instant the whistle is blown.
Anyways, I do not see Batman (sans prep, meaning no prep work or anything) having an answer to Cyclops, especially when the environment is a FLAT FIELD. That is expressly the PERFECT environment for a character like Cyclops, who can unleash a wide-area beam.
A flat environment for Cyclops is like the ocean for Namor ......instant homefield advantage.
The only way Cyclops would lose in such a situation is if he decided to simply stand there, in which case he would be taken out.
But in a KMC fight the first thing Cyclops would do is unleash one of his biggest wide-area concussive blasts, and basically scour the area 145 degrees forward for the next 1/10 th of a mile.
Unless Batman's finger hits that personal teleporter of his (and tries to come in behind Cyclops), I do not see him doing this fair and square. With prep he could probably come up with something (like Doom or Reeds, Bruce with prep should never be discounted).
But here he fails.
CAVEAT:
Some weeks back i saw a batman comic where he was talking about how he spends every day thinking about several thousand scenarios, where he is at a disadvantage against criminals. He even thinks of criminals and modus operendi (MOs) that are not in existent yet. Hence, if he thinks up a thousand a day, and ways of evading and defeating such oppnents (including those he creates himself in his mind), I wonder if he has ever thought of what he would do if he was faced with a character who can fire blasts from his/her/its eyes (say like Superman, Martian Manhunter ....or even a Cyclops type character) while he is OUT IN THE OPEN.
If I was Batman, and i was thinking about a thousand 'hail Mary' situations a day, I am certain that i would have to think about such a case (DC probably has more eye-blast shooters than even Marvel). Thus he must have thought of what he could do, especially when the eye-blast shooters in DC (e.g. Superman, Martian Manhunter) also tend to have MANY other combined powers that would make X-Factor and X-force, together, feel humbled.
Thus there is A CHANCE that Bruce might have come up with something.
However, that aside, Cyclops should win this.
But if I were Cyclops, I would be very wary of Bruce. Even though it should be a quick win by any measure, underestimating Bruce Wayne is like having your teenage daughter spend a weekend at R.Kelly's house.
In other words .....NOT a good idea!

threads are generally merged anyways if they're similar enough... both of them couldnt be closed, and the one with the most posts is typically the one that stays open...

How many threads on this site have the same characters but with a different set of rules, this is BS. If the rules of the battle are different so is the thread. The only thing that is the same is the title of the thread. And when was the last time someone posted on this thread? I've been on this site everyday since I joined it. And I didn't see any Cyclops vs. Batman ever.

the guy who made this thread had no rules, just a general idea. you supplied the rules, so yours are now the default rules of combat.
i ran a search. everyone who makes a thread is supposed to run a search first. i found the original as being the third entry down, it was cyclops v batman, with almost 300 posts.
it was either merge them, or delete your one.

So You're telling me someone is getting credit for ideas for the rules of MY thread. This site has 981 pages of threads. Do you understand how hard it is to come up with something new. I don't go to the trouble to make a thread for s*** like this to happen. You could have just ask me to change the title to something else. That would've been more of a smart move. Is that so hard? This makes no sense.
