there is info here, but avp galaxy has just heard from their contact at fox that nothing is in the works
thank god
there is no need to make a remake or reboot of a perfectly good movie.
sure the hulk sucked so remake it but Predator leave it alone.
dutch said it best "BAD IDEA"

I'm really hoping this happens.

Predators a Straight-Up Sequel?
Source:Moviehole.net June 5, 2009

What direction is Predators, 20th Century Fox's latest entry in the Predator franchise, going in? Remake? Sequel? It appears it may be the latter.

Shepherd Robert Rodriguez (Planet Terror), according to a Moviehole tipster is "considering this an official sequel to John McTiernan's film." And because of this, Rodriguez people have reached out to Arnold Schwarzenegger to participate in the film in some capacity. "Like Terminator, they know Schwarzenegger's a vital ingredient of the franchise. Ideally, Arnold will see it that way too. Ball is in his court now," says the site.

Reportedly Schwarzenegger's "Dutch" has been written into the script. The size of his part is unknown

Who Will Direct Robert Rodriguez's Predators?
Source: Latino Review June 23, 2009

Latino Review reports that 20th Century Fox and Robert Rodriguez are eyeing Vacancy and Armored helmer Nimrod Antal to direct Predators.

Opening July 7, 2010, the film is expected to give the franchise a facelift. No plot details have been announced.

Dude. What happened to Neil Marshall directing then?

I hope Latino Review has it wrong.

I still don't understand why there is a need to tie the Predator movies together as a linear franchise. Why does Predator 3 have to be called a "reboot"? Predator 2 didn't feel the need to block itself on top of the first movie. Other than a few, short, references. Predator 2 had nothing to do with the first movie. Can't Predator 3 just be another stand alone movie, why does it have to be called a reboot?

Agreed, they could just make a stand alone one. or do a kick ass avp3 that would tie that into the alien franchies.

This has been a good movie with uniqiue concept.

[B]OH yeah, one more point. You say the scenario i give would cost 200million dollars. Do me a favor. use your internet computer machine and search the budgets for alien, aliens and predator. You know what, let me save your dumbass some trouble. the budget for ALiens alien and predator...,combined, are less than 30 million dollars. So, you know what the morale is?

You can't compare the budgets of those movies. Alien was made in the late 70's, Aliens was made in the 80's as was Predator.

The cost to make any of those movies today would be at least 50 million and more likely 100+ million.

Pandorum had a budget of around 40 million, 2012 had a budget around 200 million and the Dark Knight had a budget of around 185 million. Movies like this are very expensive to make.

The scenario you suggested would easily be in the 100+ million budget range.

For a franchise that only appeals to a very narrow crowd you're not going to see a studio risk 100+ million on a film unless you have some guaranteed box office draw... you get Will Smith to star in AvP:3 and the studios will drop 300 million on it. James Cameron or Ridley Scott returning to the franchise would also motivate the studios to invest more. Until that happens, these movies are going to be trapped in low-budget hell.

Which is a shame really..

Ever since AVP:R when we saw the pred home planet I was hoping we'd get to see more of it, this looks awesome and I have high hopes for it 🙂

I like the look of this way better than AVP where the Preds are giants. This looks more like the classic Predator movies.

I think this could go really well, I can't wait to see this
