If he were that much stronger than Thor, it would be viable. I haven't seen anything that suggest that he is noticably stronger than Thor. Merely opinion. Heck, I haven't seen Superman move faster than Mach speed in any of his fights, and Thor can certainly compete with that. Superman might be able to fly at near lightspeed, but he can't fight that fast.
I wonder if Superman can vibrate through lightning...
Actually, it looks like the attack is hitting him. His image is probably distorted by the heat. I don't think he's vibrating through it. He's probably just taking it.
Think about it. Flash doesn't look like that when he vibrates through something. Supe's probably just ignoring it, or maybe dodging it. Since when does fire hurt him?

It looks like Supes is just taking the attack, and his image is being distorted by the heat. Heat doesn't hurt Superman, so why would he even need to vibrate through it, (assuming that he can)? Not even the Flash can vibrate through energy. I seriously doubt that Superman can.

Moving fast enough to become invisible to the human eye isn't very hard for someone with Superman's speed. Intangibility is another matter entirely.
