I just finished a multi-hour mkvdcu marathon. actally from about noon till now. (eyes kinda sting a bit)
I gotta say I like the game. love the story, haven't done the mk story yet.
just as I expected, this is the best mk game i've played since mk3 back in the 90's.
The gameplay's great. It still plays like your traditional mk fighter (and then some, of course) whether you're doing the 'ol jump and kick move or the ducked uppercut. The feeling's still there. It's enjoyably fast (paced) too.
Visually, soul calibur 4 still reigns supreme in this dept. But the graphics in this game are pretty sick. The characters are crazy detailed. They get bruised, cut, and bloodied up real good, mangled clothes and everything, even if you win. The stages are ok but could've been better. They have a generic blandness to them that's yet passable enough not to be a grand bother. (what's with the bat mobile?)
My favorite character is the flash. Followed by superman and batman. I've played with everyone but I pick the flash about 75% of the time.
I would've liked a wider selection. (you can fight against darkseid but can't play as him?) I would've like to have had doomsday, reptile, martian man hunter, powergirl, nightwolf, cyrax, rain, smoke, heck even supergirl. Just more people. And a 2v2 or 3v3 would've wtf owned overall.
I give this game a 9/10.
Fans of fighters will not be dissapointed with mkvdcu.
