my 15 year old brother is one of them, and he actually reads comics... i've explained it, like, at least a dozen times...

Well, your brother (along with the other people who have a hard time believing that Superman and the other superheros can get hurt by a few punches in this game) need to realize that this is a crossover game. It isn't canon to either side.

It's natural for the comic book characters to be weakened since most of them are extremely powerful and could defeat the MK universe without breaking a sweat.
