It's still not defeat as long as the other opponent still wants to fight. You're only in the process of defeating someone.
Watch it
Clearly James Irvin never won because Alexander still wanted to fight!!!!
Is this a joke? Like, I'm a really big Thanos fan, but what the shit is this

Because we see Thanos up and ready to continue the fight. We see Odin asking him if he yields. That usually doesn't happen if the person LOST the fight already.
I don't see how this is so hard for so many on this forum to understand.
The Thanosi claims Odin beat him, that's a valid assessment of their encounter, certainly more valid than if the Thanosi had claimed the opposite or referred to the fight's conclusion as a stalemate.

Obviously you missed the definition of defeat earlier.
That was a 8 sec knockout. You trying to compare the comic world with UFC rules and regulations? 🤨
I guess if Thanos woulda bit Odin soon as the fight started it woulda been a disqualification huh? Can't compare the 2.
^ In most people's eyes, Thanos lost. So while you can argue with semantics that he didn't technically lose, most people wouldn't argue that. More importantly, Thanos himself wouldn't argue that. He's not a petulant braggart who coyly relies on technicalities, the opposite in fact. So a Thanos fanboy would never admit it, but Thanos probably would (and a Thanosi did).
I think that's been lost in this conversation.
Same thing when Thor told Hulk he can't beat him and he never could. Arguably, plenty of people can argue that's just outright false and point to one arguably brief k.o. But knowing Thor's personality and how he values challenges and true victory, Thor himself probably didn't believe that was a win on his part. So, likewise, a Thor fanboy would never admit it, but Thor probably would (and finally did).

In other words, Odin kicked Thanos'. There was technically no defeat but Odin was kicking his ass. I count this toward the list of people who've kicked Thanos' ass.Odin <========||
Galactus
Tyrant
Walker
Drax
Peter Quill w/ CC
Afro-Magus

I don't know which part of my of post your referencing but none of your bullshit proves Thanos didn't get his ass kicked in by the people mentioned.
I don't understand. Don't the scans show Thanos bruised but not broken (hell not even bruised, his outfit was barely singed)? He was fully conscious and on his feet ready to continue the fight vs Odin. Odin even declared victory once or twice prematurely only to have Thanos get right back up and continue fighting.

Hard for me to see the actual Thanos admitting defeat right there on the battlefield after he said no when told to yield. That's why I say actual Thanos on panel>>>>>what a clone thinks. He clearly wasn't defeated on panel. Nearing defeat, very much so but actually defeated, no. Thanos was no where near "finished" at the conclusion of this fight.
Just tired of Odin supporters giving him a clear cut victory. This wasn't clear cut. I agree he was getting his ass handed to him for the duration but anytime you fail to either ko, (and there's no evidence of a ko) force a tapout, or obtain a verbal admission stating inferiority, it's not a solid victory. That's all.
