Violent video games are nothing but a scapegoat. As are violent movies.

Exactly. It's parents not wanting to accept that they either failed in one or more ways or just simply that their child is a ****-up.

"My little Billy wouldn't have ever set the house on fire if it wasn't for those Grand Theft Auto games!"

What's amazing is that Bayh is looking like he's going toget it, and he hasthe least votes, whereas Hillary who most definately won't, has the most votes.

Heads up. I just got an Email from Obama's campaign saying that they're "about to announce" his running mate.

Dunno how long that means, but it sounds like it's coming soon.

least of the people who have votes, that is. Nunn, Kaine, Sebelius and Roemer have 0.

This is going to be interesting.

Meant to say "one of the least". Curses.

The Case for Delaware Senator Joe Biden

No. Don't like Bidden. If Obama was smart, he'd take a Virginia politician. If he wins that state, he'll win the election.

On that subject, Former Virginia Governor Mark Warner has been confirmed at the Keynote Speaker of the Democratic Convention. It's been theorized that because of this pick, the likelihood that current Gov. Tim Kaine is much lesser now.

Another thing is that the "theme" of the Convention for the night that the VP nominee will be speaking is "Securing America's Future". Some has suggested that this will mean that the nominee will be someone well-versed in foreign policy (i.e. Biden or 4-star General Wesley Clark).

I personally think the "Securing" theme is more likely to be economic than military, but I don't think any of the pundits have picked up on that.

Democratic officials have released a list of speakers for the National Convention for the day of Tuesday, August 26th. Many of the speakers were considered during the Democratic "Veepstakes". Unless they're going to speak twice, it can be reasonably inferred that they are officially taken out of consideration.

Gov. Kathleen Sebelius (KS)

Gov. Janey Napolitano (AZ)

Gov. Ted Strickland (OH)

Gov. Ed Rendell (PA)

Gov. Deval Patrick (MA)

Sen. Bob Casey (PA)

Gov. Brian Schweitzer (MT)

Former Sec. Frederico Peña, Energy and Transportation Departments
Napolitano, Patrick, Casey and Pena were never seriously considered in media speculation.

Notable omissions:

Gov. Tim Kaine (VA)

Sen. Evan Bayh (IN)

Sen. Joe Biden (DE)

Rep. Chet Edwards (TX)

Gen. Wesley Clark
Looks like we're in the end game...

Bayh, he's Obama's Gore.

The Case Against Joe Biden

Sen. Biden is still my top pick for President. What kind of Vice President he could/would make is up to those who write the history.

I wouldn't pick him for many of the same reasons espoused by the article; he's not a representative of change. But, how much water does that argument hold, really?

If anything the article pointed out how different Mr. Biden is when it comes to the status quo for Washington insiders. So, while it might make little political sense to chose him, I would have chosen him for president long before I would have chosen him for VP.

Late night comedians would have a lot of fun with his verbal gaffes; I suspect we'd have a lot of "Biden-isms"

I don't think so, at least not in the way you might mean. I think in his case v. Bush, Biden-isms wouldn't imply an absolute measure of blatant, intentional ignorance v. simple gaffes. Him being a candidate would appeal to all those people who classify themselves as conservatives with an obvious measure of common sense serving as their guide. There's no doubt Biden's straight-talk express would be embraced by many who are now looking for it from John McCain. Biden isn't the idiot that Mr. Bush often actually is. Biden is a victim of modern political correctness, in an age when the opposite is exactly what people are looking for; despite having been served an extreme form of it in the presidency of Mr. Bush.

Well of course I didn't mean they'd be exactly the same. Biden has a habit of shooting his mouth off and falling in love with the sound of his voice.

Chris Cillizza of washingtonpost.com's Veepstakes "Line"

5. Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius
4. Rhode Island Senator Jack Reed
3. Virginia Governor Tim Kaine
2. Indiana Senator Evan Bayh
1. Delaware Senator Joe Biden

Mark Halperin of Time Magazine lists the "Head and Heart" picks for Obama:

Head - Sen. Evan Bayh (IN)
Heart - Govs. Tim Kaine (VA), Kathleen Sebelius (KS)
Head/Heart - Sens. Chris Dodd (CT), Joe Biden (DE)

Tim Kaine scares me.

He has genuine electoral strengths (Catholic, fluent in Spanish, etc.), but somehow I know that he's just not the right pick.

He's an Obama cheerleader, it's like if he picked Obama girl.
