Questioning authority is the most patriotic thing you can do. Blind support OR apathy is WRONG.

That's what makes Captain America such a great character, because he's not a blind patriot. That's characters like USAgent and Agent Nuke. He believes in doing the right thing, not the thing his government necessarily dictates. Ideals are more real to him, which is why he's stood against many government policies in his history.

You heard it in the film; he's not joining the army because he hates Nazis and wants to kill them, he's doing it because they're rolling over helpless countries and he doesn't like bullies, anywhere in the world.

I'm not American, and I'm a big fan of Steve Rogers.

Just watched this today. Gotta say it's the best comic book movie i've seen this year. Plenty of good things to say, but it's unnecessary really. Really enjoyed it and looking forward to Avengers.

Deleted scene about Bucky and the Commandos:

That's why this movie wasn't as good as Thor. Too cheesy, lack of character development of supporting cast, and lack of missions.

I actually preferred it to Thor, tbh, and the "cheesy" factor was necessary for the kind of movie it was, I think.

It felt as cheesy as Raiders of the Lost Ark was cheesy. I preffered Thor as well, but I think the tone of CA was meant to be that way, considering it took place during a more "innocent" time in our history.

Captain America 2 Will Be Set "Primarily" In Modern Day

I was assuming they were going to do that anyway, but it's nice to have confirmation. Really looking forward to seeing him try to adapt to the modern world...

Yeah, I thought that the first one lacked that and it has always been a portion of Cap I enjoyed.

It was good in a sense that it was an Origin story though.

What I would've liked was that if there was more going between Cap and Red Skull. Red Skull needed more meaningful scenes and introduction in the first place. It felt like Cap was just taking down another bad guy, albeit a nasty looking one, but didn't make me care. Maybe if there was an epic intense fight scene beforehand where Red Skull kills Bucky with an emotional death scene (Cap helpless), then the final showdown would've been much better.

Also, Red Skull's "death" was a bit lame. I mean those who didn't watch Thor are probably wondering WTH? Scotty beamed him up, thats it?

Reminded me of Superman Returns for some reason. Was toned down (action/fighting), but still a decent portrayal.

I doubt that he's actually dead considering where Red Skull got beam to.

The cheese in Cap works because of what time line it was set in, imo. Caps cheese is more visual and matter more. Thor cheese was more verbal and not even funny, it was unnecessary.

I agree.

I didnt like thor, some parts are good but the cheese over weighs it.

^ Well Thor was the much bigger hit, despite Captain America being a more well known and recognisable superhero (until this year)..

And in terms of quality of the films I thought Thor was far superior to Cap. There was no stunning action sequence in Cap, and Thor was just on the whole a much more fun movie IMO.
