I can't wait for this movie to come out. We basically got a glimpse of how Captain America will move when in action when we saw Emil Blonsky in TIH, but it should be amped up a little in CM's movie. I can't wait.
My sentiments exactly! That was my favorite part of TIH. I loved how they made the Super Soldier experiment a big part of that movie so that when we watch the Captain's own movie we'll have an idea of what the deal is.
Plus, in the alternate opening there's that silhoutte of Captain America as well. Regarding Blonsky, I too loved that the super soldier serum was still something of importance. I'd love to see if they import that into the Avengers movie, and have something like Ross creating a team of super soldiers or something, since he has almost always has some sort of new secret agenda.
The Director for Captain America has been announced! And thank god its not Mark steven Johnson!
Snagged this from superherohype:
"Joe Johnston has signed on to direct Marvel Studios' First Avenger: Captain America, based on characters developed by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon. The film will be produced by Marvel Studios' President Kevin Feige. Executive Producers on the project are Louis D'Esposito, Stan Lee and Marvel Studios' Chairman David Maisel. Paramount Pictures will distribute First Avenger: Captain America worldwide. The film will come to theaters domestically on May 6, 2011.
Here's the official logline: In the early days of the Marvel Universe, Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America.
Johnston is currently directing The Wolfman, which hits theaters on April 3. He is developing The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud. Johnston previously directed October Sky, Jumanji, Jurassic Park III, The Rocketeer and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. Johnston won an Academy Award® in 1982 for Best Visual Effects for Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Marvel Studios most recently announced an agreement with Raleigh Studios to film each of its next four films at Raleigh’s facility in Manhattan Beach, CA which will include First Avenger: Captain America. "
What do you think guys? I'm even more excited now!

I think he will do a good job especially if he has a good strong script

I feel for this movie they need to cast someone not really known but looks like him and acts well. I feel captain america doesn't need a big name actor behind it
I don't know if it's better to get a complete unknown or not. Funny how some characters are cast differently - Superman actors are total unknowns, Batman actors are name actors at least. Why do different rules apply?
I might lean towards getting a name actor.

To me I think its about money issues..
I think also what actor, whether its a name or no name can best fit a comic book character..
What worked for previous comic book roles may not work here for Capt. America
