STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Learner

"I...don't fully know. We've crashed, but I don't know what planet we're on. At least part of the ship has broken apart, and Master Myraline is still unconscious. I can't seem to wake her." Rianna explains, managing to sound far more calm than she feels. "Healing is something I haven't had any chance to learn yet..."

At the least, though, she'll apply one of the bacta packs to the cut on Myraline's head, to stop the bleeding and make sure there's no infection, because who knows what's in this water.

Is Palpatine injured at all? For that matter, is Rianna at all injured from the crash?

Palpatine actually seems to be okay, other than some unpleasant bruises and cuts.

The right side of your body, where you struck the wall upon impact, is completely bruised and swollen. That arm aches terribly, but it doesn't feel broken... you think. You're not sure. There is also a cut on your head from when the ship first began to spin out of control, bleeding quite a bit. You can stop that... but you have taken about 35 damage total from the crash.

"This is a catastrophe," Palpatine says, following you out of Quinn's quarters and sloshing through the water as you move to attend to Myraline's cuts. "What do you propose we do, Rianna?"

"I'm not sure...I don't know if where we are is safe. We'll need to find a city, some sort of civilization, to get a message to Coruscant about what has happened." Rianna says, gathering up the medical supplies she can find and patching up Myraline's cuts. "But first I need to find Quinn and awaken Master Myraline."

Rianna will also clean her own cuts and stop the bleeding, and look around for any sort of emergency supplies that Quinn may have had on the ship. She's not expecting to find a working comm or anything, but at least some glowrods will be very useful.

Glowrods and synthrope are found in a storage closet.

Palpatine wants you to find Quinn and assess if there is any danger beyond the ship.

Well, good thing that's what Rianna plans on doing, anyway.

And that stuff should be helpful. Rianna will give a glowrod to Palpatine so he's not sitting around in the dark, and gather up the rest of the stuff to go exploring.

"You should remain here on the ship, Senator. At least until I find out where we are and if it is safe." she says to him.

Aaand then off out the former cockpit door...what can she see, and does she Sense anything?

Palpatine draws a small, silvery pistol for self-defense.

"Be careful, young one," Palpatine says. "Keep in touch."

You sense, as before, overwhelming signs of life that you cannot concentrate on. Out the door is the dark water that you cannot see under, and the fog you cannot see through.

Odd, there was sunlight coming through the cracked hull from above... this fog is dense and dark.

Hmm. That is odd. Though not really much that can be done about that...

Well, first thing to do is for Rianna to see how deep the water is, and to try and find her way to a shore. Hopefully it's shallow enough to walk, so she won't have to repair her lightsaber again shortly...

Unless you want to find something to test the water, you are not sure how deep it is. It seems murky. Upon closer inspection, you also realize that fuel is leaking from the ship and adding to the murkiness... though in turn it has been leaking into the ship, since it is now waterlogged. Which means that you are not just wet, you are also minorly flammable.

The cockpit is not the only exit, you know. And with your lightsaber, you can always make one anywhere on the ship.

Minorly flammable, huh? Nice...

Is there anything around that Rianna could use to try and test how deep the water is? Piece of wreckage, trashed furniture, etc.

Piece of wreckage will do.

You probe the murky waters with a long length of piping. You strike the bottom. It sinks slightly into the muck, but it isn't too deep...

And then a slithery tentacle wraps itself around the pipe.

Rianna will let go of the piece of wreckage she was using to test the depth. The tentacle-thing can have it.

And she'll try another exit, I think. Where is the actual hatch on the ship located in relation to where she is?

It yanks the pipe out of your grip and it disappears beneath the water.

The hatch is lower than the rest of the main room, and so is filled with water/fuel. You have a feeling if you got it open it would only reveal a wall of mud as it is.

Well, that I guessed. I meant more what side of the ship.

Rianna will go to as close to the opposite side of the ship from where she is and cut another exit, and see if she can see anything any better there, and also how deep the water is.

You ignite your lightsaber and prepare to put it through a wall...

"Um, Rianna..." Palpatine says. "I don't mean to question your skills as a Jedi, but... wouldn't that create sparks? It looks like there's fuel leaking into the water, in here..."

"Oh." Rianna replies, realizing what she was about to do. "I wasn't thinking..."

Well, then, contrary to what you suggested before (😛) the cockpit is the only exit - safe one at least. So not much choice but to go out that way, I guess.

Perhaps the evil voice telling you to do things should not be trusted!

And the cockpit is not the only way out, but it is feasible to try.

Well, unless there are any other areas where Rianna could try and cut through the hull where she won't have to worry about setting them all on fire...or are there any viewports or anything of the sort that could be knocked out?

Observation roll... 16 is a pass!

There is an open hatch that leads up to the topside turret. The window can be broken out of it, if it was not already broken in the crash.

Excellent.

Rianna shall try that, then! Plus from on top of the ship she can get a better idea of the surroundings...hopefully.

Climbing up into the cockpit, you break through a window and clamber out onto the top of the ship...

The fog does not seem to reach this high! That is good news.

The bad news is that all you can see around you is trees and the fog below. But you do not sense anything amiss or dangerous.

Palpatine wants to know if it would be safer out there rather than in the ship with the leaking fuel.
