STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Learner

"It is your Master's job to watch over you, not the other way around...and you're still young." Rianna replies awkwardly. "I'm guessing whoever fired the shots got away...then we really should move. And...I sense that something is still wrong."

Multiple shooters roving through an abandoned village and a giant bug that somehow, unseen and unheard, snuck up on you. Something is wrong here, you don't need your senses to tell you that.

Well, Rianna is going to inspect the giant bug, for starters. Since it doesn't appear to be a normal giant bug. If it moves or twitches or does anything other than sit there like a dead bisected bug, she's going to stab it with her lightsaber.

"If you sense anything unusual or wrong, tell me immediately." she instructs Ciira. "I have a bad feeling about this..."

Nope, this thing is dead. No weird movements from this thing...

Rianna, the giant beetle seems to have metal components integrated with its natural anatomy. The most obvious is that there is a thin metal shell covering the exoskeleton. Its organs too have metal coatings and even some additional hardware... very strange indeed.

You also find pieces strapped into its brain.

I'm guessing Rianna doesn't know technical stuff well enough to have any idea what any of the hardware or anything is...

"I...have no idea what this is or what it means. But it worries me more. We can't stay here, Ciira, we need to leave." Rianna says, frowning as she pokes at the bug.

How long has it been since Rianna left their camp, anyway?

You have been gone a few hours; the journey through the jungle was slow going until you ascended to the treetops. The wreck of the Last Chance is not that far away.

And no, you have no idea what any of this is. You just know that it is completely unnatural. Someone put these things into the bug, and the bug was following you around...

"We stay here!" Ciira shouts at you. "We will die outside! Don't you get that?!"

"And it is no safer here! This thing followed me here, and someone put this stuff into this bug. For all we know, whoever attacked you and your Master before did this, and could know exactly where we are. I can deal with the jungle - and I'd rather keep moving than hide in one place waiting for something to happen!" Rianna replies, starting to lose her patience.

It is no use, Rianna. She is not listening. Whatever happened here, she is convinced that this place is safer than the open street of the abandoned village.

Well, Rianna's in no mood to sit around and argue anyway. She's going to go and scout out the village and see if she can find out anything.

"If you want to help, then you can let me know if you sense anything wrong." she says to Ciira, heading to the door.

Pushing your way past Ciira, you move out into the corridor and head down it, back towards the stairs...

"Hey, wait for me!" Ciira shouts, running after you.

"Well, hurry up!" Rianna replies, figuring that that would've worked. "Also...are you any good with healing at all?"

Still want to investigate the village and see if we can turn up anything, of course.

Ciira can make a Medicine roll on you if you want.

That might be a bit helpful, what with the crash and then fighting those stupid Maws in the jungle...Rianna's likely not feeling her best because of all of that.

As it turns out, Ciira has a knack for medicinal studies. She removes 29 damage from you, patching up your bites and using a Jedi meditation technique to sooth them.

Now, where to? I believe you wanted to check out the rest of the town.

Ciira is depressed about leaving her Master's body behind, but she takes his lightsaber, tucking it into her robes.

Well, that's handy.

And yes. Rianna's a bit at a loss as to what to do now, so she'll start out by checking out the rest of the town.

"How did you end up on this planet? And...do you even know what planet this is?" she asks Ciira.

Ciira explains that she and Master Jeph were returning to civilized space after a surveillance mission that was the precursor to their main mandate, to reduce pirate activity in this sector. It was part of a series of missions that the Order has been working on launching in tandem with the Senate, to show that the Republic still cares about its outlying worlds... though at the moment they are limited and ill-funded missions.

They stopped to refuel on Beseedra, the closest civilized world, before continuing their mission, but their hyperdrive shorted out over this world and they were attacked by pirates.

The pilot and a few of the soldiers who were with them died in the crashlanding in the jungle, and more were killed by the plantlife. Only her, Master Jeph, and a pair of soldiers made it to this village, only to find it empty. And that's when Jeph and the soldiers were ambushed and shot down, while Ciira managed to hide. She eventually grabbed Master Jeph's body and then hid out where you found her.

So their hyperdrive just shorted out over this planet and they were shot down by pirates.

That basically sounds like what happened to Quinn's ship...something suddenly pulling us out of hyperspace and then getting attacked.

Veeeery suspicious indeed. Rianna doesn't like it at all.

What pulled you out of hyperspace appeared to be damage to the hyperdrive when the ionized explosive went off. Your ship was sabotaged... though Ciira confirms that that was Master Jeph's explanation for what happened with the Republic frigate they had been on.

It seems that both ships were sabotaged while on Beseedra, then. Both made stops on that planet, both were knocked out of hyperspace and attacked over this planet. That is not coincidence in the least. There is definitely something up.

As you are pondering this and walking out into the village, you see a man standing in the middle of the road.
