STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Learner

Started by Peach42 pages

Um, basically so long as they're blocking the stairway enough that they'd need to be moved to get past, that'd be good...

And where is Rianna situating herself?

Towards the top of the stairs.

Next to your office furniture arrangement?

A bit above it. I want that to be towards the middle of the stairs.

After quickly arranging the chairs and desks on the stairs, you wait.

It takes time, but the droids blast away at the thick wooden door until it is consumed with by fire and broken through. The droids immediately stop firing and push the door inward...

As soon as they get in the door, Rianna will use a Combat Push against two of them.

A droid becomes visible after you smash him against a wall.

You sense a great deal of danger.

Uhoh. Coming from any particular direction or just in general?

(let me guess - these damn things can fly, can't they)

It may have to do with the fact that you are standing out in the open of the stairwell by yourself. Ciira has ducked back into the cooridor to shield herself from the incoming blasterfire...

...which erupts from a dozen blasters at once, setting the desk barricade aflame and blasting up the stairs around you. You notice that the droids become visible each time they pull the triggers of their blasters, but it is something you cannot capitalize upon just yet. You take damage that knocks you up to 76 damage and a Death Check (passed).

Rianna decides to give up a Luck re-roll to catch on to what her senses are telling her. Just as the droids open fire, she backs up onto the balcony where she is just out of range. The droids still blast up the stairwells where her barricades were arranged, setting the desks aflame, but she is clear of damage.

Once you get out of the way, though, the droids stop firing and you cannot tell where they are... until they start marching up the stairs, bumping aside blasted parts of chairs and desks. You have a few moments before they reach the top of the stairs.

"Rianna!" Ciira says. "What are you doing?"

Rianna will duck back to where Ciira is, for the moment.

"They become visible when they open fire," Rianna says. Is it possible to use Combat Push against them while they're on the stairs?

Not from where Ciira is, but yes.

But Ciira seems to have other plans.

"Great, but we can't fight all of them at once," Ciira says. "Master Jeph always told me that in situations like these, one should try to narrow down as many attackers as possible, take advantage of your position when you can. If we let them come into the hallway, we can cut them down one at a time!"

"I wasn't intending to fight all of them at once. I simply like to thin the numbers before they all are within reach," Rianna replies. "That, and I hate waiting. For anything."

"Patience can be a Jedi's greatest ally," Ciira says, as if lecturing.

The droids are progressing up the stairs, their unseen metal feet clattering against the tile of the stairs.

"I hear that enough from my Master, I don't need to be lectured by a child as well..." Rianna says, annoyed.

Ciira looks hurt by that.

"Are you going to follow the plan or not?" she demands.

"Well, rushing into an invisible enemy isn't going to work, so what else can we do? Especially now. If this doesn't work, we're trapped and dead, you realize," Rianna replies. "And patience is about the last thing I want to hear about right now..."

The waiting game commences, then, as Ciira conceals herself in a doorway opposite of you, lightsaber in hand but unlit.

The droids progress up to the balcony, as you can tell from their clanking feet. But after a moment of glaring in that direction, you can tell something else... the concealment is not complete. There is a faint blur in the space where the droids are standing. The light from the now open door is distorted.

They decide to move into the cooridor...

Are they in Combat Push range? Because if so, Rianna will use that against the droid in the lead, slamming it back into the others.
